Yes and No

I am super excited for my date with River, but I have to kick Westview's ass first in the game. Not only that, but I have to deal with Keira. Every girl on the team knows to stay away from River because she has marked him, but he is too irresistible and I want him. I just cannot let her find out before or during the game as we could lose.

I walk into the locker room and find it empty except for Keira waiting with a knowing smirk on her face.

"You really think you could get a date with River without me knowing you bitch?!" She crossed her arms in front of her chest and her face was red with rage.

I stared at her and responded confidently, "I do not appreciate your tone, Keira. I think if you want to talk about this, it can wait until after the game. We need to be at our best in order to defeat Westview."

She stared me down, "No, I am going to beat you so you cannot play this game." She charged at me as fast as she could and tackled me to the ground.

Luckily, I had taken karate growing up and easily pinned her. Thing is, she fought dirty and decided to kiss me. I loosened my grip, due to my shock, and she placed her entire body on my chest.

"Amanda, River is mine and I guess you are just going to have to learn the hard way about going behind my back."

Luckily, she had not pinned my arms and I punched her in the face before she could do anything harmful to me. I stood up and slammed her against the wall.

"Keira, I can take care of myself and, right now, we need to focus on this game. If you want to hurt me, let's meet after school on Monday," I let go of her and I saw a resigned look of defeat in her face.

"Fine, let's go play against Westview and we can discuss this later." She immediately walked away and out to the court.

I smiled happily that I had somewhat kicked her ass...

The game went amazingly well. We destroyed Westview and now we were eligible to play for the state championship. I was beaming with joy and pride, but now I had an exciting date with River too!!!

I switched the radio to my own music playlist. I started playing Need You Tonight by INXS because I think it sets a nice mood. Man, Amanda is super hot and classy. I definitely know I need to impress her and be as gentlemanly as possible. I turned and saw her walking to the car. Somehow, even glistening with sweat, she is still beautiful. I got out of the car and made sure to open her door for her.

"River, you are such a gentleman! Thank you!" She went down into the car with a huge smile. I was smiling too because I knew we were going to have a great time. I started driving away and to Nick's.

"So, how was the game Amanda?" I could tell by her smile that it probably had gone well.

"We absolutely destroyed Westview, it was an amazing team effort. How about you? What did you do while I was playing?"

I obviously could not mention how I saw my mother having lesbian sex so I said,

"I watched some episodes of Sex Education and relaxed. Sex Education is one of my favorite TV shows," I was surprised to see her recoil in surprise.

"I love Eric and Otis! They are so great together and kind! As a matter of fact, you actually remind me of Otis. You help others, obviously not with sex advice, and are so wise. Definitely an old soul, River," I was equally surprised to see how complimentary Amanda was.

"Well, thank you. I love Otis as a character. You actually remind me of Maeve just as much, but I do not think you have "been around" nearly as much as she has. You love to read and I think you are very outspoken in a good way," I said, hoping I did not completely insult her.

"Yeah, I have always thought that Maeve and I are extremely similar. Funny enough, but my best friend from Maine actually said the same. I really miss her, her name is Jackie," I could tell that discussing Jackie was making her sad and that I needed to make her feel better.

"Well, I think it could be fun if Jackie came out here and she could see LA. That way, you two could talk."

"Yeah, she is actually coming out here for Christmas, so I am really excited to talk to her then," I was happy that her mood seemed to improve when she mentioned Jackie was coming for Christmas and we pulled right up to Nick's.

"Well, we are here. Let me come around and I will get your door for you," I opened my door and was eager to see how the rest of the date would go. We already have favorite shows in common and I am sure we will have much more.
