Chapter 76 by Johnrocker Johnrocker

Does Mark skip class for the pub?

Yes. Skip class with Matt

“Ugh whatever, fine then,” he said caving in.

“Good boy Mark,” Matt replied ruffling his hair, “Oh and shit shirts only, so hurry up and get changed and meet me out the front.”

Peer pressure had gotten to him again. The next thing he knew, the two roommates dressed in ridiculous yellow and red Hawaiian shirts were on their way to the pub.

“So why’s there such an urge to go to a pub on a Tuesday Afternoon when we both have class?” asked Mark as they approached the local.

Before Matt could answer, his phone started to go off. He looked at the number and put it back in his pocket without answering.

“Who was that?”

“Just Cassidy, it’ll be fine.”

The two boys made it to the local pub down the road where there were plenty of college kids taking advantage of the happy hour specials.

Grabbing two beers, they found a spot outside to sit down and drink. They were almost immediately interrupted by another college freshman, one with a growing brown mullet and a shirt that was completely unbuttoned showing off his toned chest.

“G’day boys! How we going fellas!” he said, taking a seat at the table.

He was double parked, two full pints of beer.

“Macca! Brooo it’s so good to see you,” Matt exclaimed.

Macca was an exchange student from Australia. It wasn’t his real name, just a nickname but there weren’t too many people who actually knew his birth name. His Aussie accent was thick and Mark struggled to understand a lot of the things he said.

Macca and Matt spoke for a while before he addressed Mark personally, “So you tied down or flying solo.”

Assuming he was asking him if he was single or taken, he told him that he didn’t have a girlfriend.

“Yeh good one mate, it sure beats this dickhead, couldn’t pull more than one chick so he decides to give up,” he replied laughing, putting an arm around Matt.

That got to him a bit, clearly making him a little bit annoyed. “Oh please, I could get any girl here if I wanted to.”

Just as he said it, his phone went off again. It was sitting on the table and before Matt could cancel it, Macca had already seen that it was Cassidy calling.

He bursted out laughing again, “The fucking timing! Tell your missus to bugger off, it’s happy hour!”

Matt just hung up and finished his beer off in seconds.

Getting up from his seat, he ordered another beer from the bar and started immediately chatting up one of the girls at the bar.

“10 bucks he doesn’t get her number,” Macca said, “and 20 bucks that I go up there next and get her number instead.”

Mark didn’t doubt that, it wasn’t a bet he wanted to take. He blamed the Aussie heritage to why Macca was so good at getting any girl he wanted.

They watched on as the blonde girl at the bar slapped Matt right in the face. Macca once again found it hysterical where Mark felt a little bad for his roommate even though he shouldn’t be flirting with random girls in the first place.

Once he came back to the table, Macca had his go and true to his word, he came back with her number. “Addison.” he said showing her name in his contacts with her mobile.

“How the fuck did you do that, she was a snob,” said Matt ticked off.

“Born with these skills mate, how about you have a go at getting any girl’s number, anyone here, even one of the fatties if you have to.”

Mark gave Matt a stern look. One to signal to him to give this game up and just let it go. After all, he had a girlfriend, he didn’t need to prove anything to anyone. Unfortunately Matt didn’t see things that way, he was more concerned about impressing some hot shot Australian than being loyal to his girlfriend.

Without a word, he got back out of his seat and tried to find a girl that would give him her number.

Mark worried where this was heading.
