Chapter 12 by Halo423 Halo423

Does Kate get some help?

Yes. By a Scarlet Savior

Kate, **** to avoid any more attention than Tony had given her, decided to take a shortcut through the common area. She tiptoed carefully, hoping to pass unnoticed. But luck, it seemed, was not on her side.

“Kate?” came Wanda’s soft, concerned voice.

Kate froze mid-step, her eyes darting toward Wanda, who was sitting calmly on a couch with a cup of tea in her hands. Wanda’s expression was a mix of concern and confusion as she set the cup down, her gaze locking on Kate’s flustered, fully exposed form.

“Are you… okay?” Wanda asked, her voice gentle but laced with worry.

Kate let out a sigh, her face flushing red with embarrassment. “Peachy. Just peachy,” she muttered, crossing her arm tightly over her chest while the other hand kept her crotch covered as best she could, in an effort to maintain what little dignity she had left.

Wanda tilted her head slightly, her brows knitting together in sympathy. “I heard Tony's announcement,” she added, her voice laced with an understanding that only made Kate's situation worse. “I think he made that just to mess with you.”

Kate groaned inwardly. "Yeah, I’m sure it was his idea of a joke," she muttered, her cheeks burning. "He definitely enjoyed making this public. Real nice."

Wanda gave a sympathetic smile. "You should tell the others to talk to America, let her know she’s crossed the line."

Kate shook her head, her hands tightening around the towel she'd wrapped herself in. "No, I’ll deal with America myself," she replied firmly, despite the embarrassment still prickling at her skin. She wasn’t about to let anyone else fight her battles.

Wanda nodded, clearly understanding Kate's desire for control over the situation. She waved her hand, and with a soft shimmer, a towel appeared and floated through the air landing gently in front of Kate.

“Here,” Wanda said softly, her tone kind. “It’s not much, but it’ll cover you until you get back to your room.”

Kate grabbed the towel gratefully, wrapping it around herself as quickly as possible. "Thanks," she mumbled, still mortified but relieved to have at least some semblance of cover.

Wanda smiled reassuringly. “It happens to the best of us,” she said lightly, though the corners of her mouth twitched as if suppressing a laugh.

Kate groaned inwardly, knowing she’d never live this down. Clutching the towel tightly, she hurriedly ran out of the common area now that she had some form of cover, determined to reach her room without any more interruptions.

Does Kate finally get back to her room?
