Chapter 3

What's next?
Yes, with a bit of flair...
Jim pondered the question as he sat there, reading it over and thinking about what it was asking. Why would it matter if he had been a girl or not? Sure, there were girls in his class that always had better handwriting than the boys, this was also a given in his house with his retired primary school teacher for a mom, and the amount of hardships he had to endure over the years being compared to his sister Tabitha. Then again, when the sister was reknown throughout the county for having impeccable handwriting (her calligraphy alone had saved many a christmas season growing up), it was easier to argue than to struggle to match her skills. Probably would've saved the taunting he received from her when she learned he had gotten into med school.
1.) IF YOU WERE A GIRL...WOULD YOUR HANDWRITING BE NICE?
He picked up a pen and after laughing a bit, he jotted down his answer. Yes, though it would be with a little flair. A bit young, perhaps, but neater than my writing now. Jim nodded and placed his pen back down and laughed a bit at the extra information he wrote into the spaces. He wasn't taking this questionnaire like an actual test or real-life exercise but the notion of having fun exploring alternate life-styles and personalities was a nice escape. Growing up, he often had adventures where he would read comic books and imagine himself living the life of a character in there, whether it be in Spiderman or Batman, and pretending what it would be.
If the thought practice was to put himself in the life of a girl growing up, Jim thought that there would be some things that he would deal with and one of those, well, would be being neater than his life as a boy. Sexist or not, his girls were definitely more neat and kept than his sons (that was evident by their rooms and dress...his sons were amazing young men but they didn't hold a candle to their sisters). Even his staffers, from the receptionists to the nurses, had better handwriting than some of the male staffers. Jim couldn't deny the evidence in front of him.
Still, as he stood up and walked over to the front area, he didn't mind that he had one of the better handwritings among the doctors in his practice. The assistants preferred to get his notes, especially commenting on how neat and tidy it looked. Jim just shrugged, feeling that maybe Tabitha's extra lessons all those years ago still paid off for him.

In the evening, after finishing closing up for the night, Jim took a moment to stretch before pausing and examining his hands in the mirror. For a few moments during the day, it felt a bit off when he was holding things, though the feelings often went away almost as quickly as his brain noticed them. There was an odd incident, though, as he signed off on a patient report and the nursing assistant who took it made a comment that his writing looked a lot like her younger sister's handwriting. Jim just shrugged it off, saying that it was how he wrote things in a quick manner, and she just laughed saying it was cute on how embarrassed he got.
When asked, his wife Sophie just shrugged and said that it looked the same since they were married and Jim just decided not to really pay much attention to it. He supposed she was correct, though mostly he knew it was because they had family coming over in a few days and she was busy prepping the house to accommodate the influx of people. They kept a decently sized house, even with all 5 kids now out and living on their own with their own homes and families, so when someone inevitably dropped by, he laughed as she went into Mother-bird mode and just seemingly crashed from one room to the next. He learned it was best to let her do her own thing, though, and reverted to the tried-and-true position of most husbands: Gopher-mode.( As in Go-For-This and Go-For-That...)
After getting ready for bed, he gave her snoring and slightly drooling head a kiss on the forehead, Jim pulled up the questionnaire and read the next question with more than a bit of enthused amusement.

Questionnaire
21 Questions to a new you!
Inspired by the "TG Questionnaire" on Deviantart, an otherwise innocent looking questionnaire targeted at random people has the effect of changing the life of all those that dare to start (and once you start, you can't stop until the end!) The most devious plot, though, comes from the simple fact that all of the changes happening to people comes from their own minds. The quiz is the vessel...
