“I'm all ears.” You agree, not just out of relief of avoiding the theatre and probably some stuffy French restaurant, but more to figure out your mysterious blind date.

“First, your birthday present.” With a flick of her hand Kyle produces a baseball card sealed in acrylic seemingly out of nowhere, as if she was some magician or master thief. “From your instagram page I take it you collect baseball cards?” The card she holds in front of you is a 1914 Cracker Jack - Christy Mathewson.

“How did you get that?” You are genuinely shocked. “How did you know? He's been my favorite player since I was a kid and this is his rarest card.”

“A little bird told me.” She smiles, pleased with your reaction and offers you the card.

“I couldn't accept that.” Are the first words that spill out of your mouth. “It must of cost you a small fortune.”

“Don't worry.” Kyle gently opens your jacket's lapel and slips the card into your inner chest pocket. “I stumbled upon a very willing merchant and got it for a steal.”

“Now, for our date.” She continues, “I've read the owner of the Monarchs, Luthor isn't it, recently opened up a retro amusement park and penny arcade next to the new stadium he built last year, which sounds like a lot of fun and the specialty burger place nearby is rumored to be amazing.”

Closing your jacket she puts her hand and your chest, as if securing the card against your body. Her touch is electric. Leaving her hand in place she adds, “If you don't mind, there is one place near the Stadium I would love to visit first. The Metropolis Athenaeum of Fine Art is supposedly having a display of early modern English jewelry. I heard it's priceless. I would love to get a quick look, I promise I won't be long.”

As the new President of the Board of Trustees for the Athenaeum you know about this collection and it pains you to inform your date that the exhibit isn't ready for showing and won't be open to the public until next month.

“That's too bad.” Kyle lowers her hand off your chest. “I'm only in Metropolis for a day or so on business and then back to Gotham.” A warm smile soon returns to her face, “This is your birthday, however, and I hope you like your present and are up for a little old school gaming.”
