Lucy had invited me for a pleasant evening at her house. Of course I accepted this. We started the evening cozy on the couch with a cup of tea, chatting when Lucy suddenly asked if I would like a game of cards.

I looked at her in surprise, we never played games. "Oh, why not. What do you have in mind?"

"Well," said Lucy, "I'll get my stuff together. It's very simple. We each have 10 coins. We take turns drawing a card, the highest wins and gets a coin from the other. The ace is 1 point and so the lowest card, the king the highest. In the event of a tie, double the bet."

"Okay, sounds nice and indeed not too difficult." I said.

At that moment the doorbell rang at Lucy's.

"Are you expecting someone else?" I said disappointed.

"No, not really. But hey, the more souls the merrier." replied Lucy.
