Yes, buy the outfit…

Traci looked around in a panic but didn't see any other exits other than the one that was right past Kelly. She had ****. She slowly made her way to stand in line to get rung up for her new outfit.

“Ohmagawd,” the girl behind the register drawled out when Traci placed the clothes on the counter, “That is such a cute top don't you think?”

“I guess.”

“Yeah! Of course you do, or you wouldn't be buying it, huh?”

Traci thanked the cashier and took her bag. Kelly was already walking out the door and Traci hurried to catch up.

“Look at you,” Kelly said with a big grin, “buying your first adult girl clothes!”

Traci felt her face flush.

“Come on,” Kelly said in a more serious tone, “Let's hit the food court. I am starving!”

The girls made their way down to the bustling food court and ordered their lunches. They got lucky and spotted an elderly couple just getting up from their table and rushed over to claim it just before another pair of girls could do the same. Traci did her best to ignore the angry glares being sent their way but Kelly just smiled and waved at the other girls.

They took their time with lunch, talking about their hopes for the upcoming semester. Traci learned that Kelly was looking at becoming a Psych major. That was a scary thought.

“Hey, don’t give me that look.” Kelly took a sip of her diet coke. “I think I could be a really good therapist. I really wanna get inside people’s heads and see what makes them tick. Understanding someone’s pain is the first step to helping them heal, you know.”

“Oh, I see.”

“Plus, it would be really cool to have everyone call me Dr. Wu. Anyway, what about you?”

“Computer science. With a minor in international business studies. Maybe.”

Kelly snorted. “You are such a nerd.”

They finished up then headed back to their dorm.
