Chapter 10 by Syloren Syloren

Can you get in the club?

Yes, With a Little Charm

As you get closer to the front you get more nervous, even Allegra looks unsure which you're not used to. You look at the closest wall, it's surface is polished to a sheen and you can see your reflection in it. You think back to what the receptionist said, to what Allegra said, hell even to all the looks you've been getting all day that you aren't used to. If you can turn so many heads now maybe you should try using it to your advantage? Jenny has certainly used her looks to her advantage before. You hear an argument from ahead of you and the last group between you and the bouncers angrily leaves, leaving the two of you to advance. The closest of the two looks down at you.

"You're not on the list." He doesn't even bother checking so much as a note, you get the feeling he knows exactly who to let in by memory. Allegra smiles nervously, you can practically see her mind racing to come up with some kind of excuse. You bite your lip slightly, then turn your eyes to the bouncer. You do your best to look...seductive, for lack of a better term.

"But our friend is already inside, surely you can make an exception?" You bat your eyelashes, far fuller than you remember them being, and lightly grip the collar of your shirt - tugging it down ever so slightly. The two bouncers turn away from you and have a private conversation. "I don't suppose you know a Jenny Fairbanks?" You add and the conversation takes on a different tone.

"Alright, but just this once." You hear angry complaints behind you as they step aside and let the two of you in. As the door shuts behind you Allegra turns to you in shock.

"Holy shit Morgan, how did you do that?" You shrug at her, you honestly can't believe it worked either. Of course you have a new problem - actually finding Jenny. They did seem to have a reaction to you name dropping Jenny, that would check with the fact that she's in here somewhere. The entire building has that sterile, modern art installation look to it and you can see a dance floor not far, as well as a bar. You and Allegra split up once again, pestering the club goers if they knew anything about Jenny. Unfortunately most of them seem more interested in hitting on you, it doesn't quite give the same feeling as a genuine compliment to say the least. Eventually you're frustrated from one too many aggressive pick up lines and decide to sit at the bar, thinking about what to do next while you look around.

Do you see Jenny?
