Chapter 11 by Northfield

Does she dare to make an escape?

Yes! She runs away

While they seemed distracted, Julie took off. She darted in between two girls and began running down the road. The group immediately turned and shouted after her. Julie, of course, kept running. Tourists and beachgoers looked up at her but she could not afford to cover up right now. Barefooted as she was she had a serious disadvantage. The others wearing sandals or even shoes would be a lot quicker than her. The uneven pavement hurt her feet and she was attracting a lot of attention. Had this been a mistake? Should she have let them play their game? She sure was getting seen now anyway.

She heard them yell again. "Thief!" They shouted. They were not far behind. Julie had to shake them somehow or this could end badly. The beachside road was lined with cafes and shops. Sometimes there were narrow alleys in between leading up the hill. A bit further up ahead was the main boulevard. It was incredibly busy, but she could lose her pursuers there. Otherwise, she could try and hide somewhere in or in between the shops.

What tactic will she employ?
