Yang ends up seeing Blake.

Before the placement test began, Jaune walked in on Weiss and a girl named Pyrrha having a conversation. Upon realizing who Pyrrha was, he gushed a bit, but still acted like she was a normal person, much to Weiss's annoyance.

A little later, they were standing on a cliff outside the Emerald Forest, and Ozpin explained the test was to find a relic of some kind within the forest, and of course try not to die. Their first partner would be decided by who they fist met eyes with in the forest. The pairs of partners put together in a team was decided by some other criteria Ozpin did not disclose. He then started launching the students, something Jaune comically failed to notice as he tried to ask Ozpin of he had handed out parachutes.

After being launched at random from the side of the cliff, Yang started to control her fall using her shotgun gauntlets. She looked around to try to find where Jaune was launched, and saw him shrieking like a little kid, NOT a little girl, that was sexist, before a spear seemed to come out of nowhere on a trajectory with his hoodie.

Yang tried to control her trajectory to bring herself closer, but she was already close to the ground, so only got a little bit of that distance she needed. She then started walking to where Jaune was. She needed to be on his team somehow or another, but then...

"Hey," Blake said casually.

Well, fuck. Now she was partners with Blake as she instinctively looked and met her eyes. Yang however took it like a champ and didn't show her disappointment. "Hey," she said back.

Okay, this could still work out... The teams were in fours after all... If she could figure out that criteria, she could still be on the team with Jaune. And that would bring Blake here closer to him as well. Yes, if she pulled this off, it could work out VERY well. Hopefully whoever Jaune met up with was a pretty girl too...
