Chapter 2 by SlootyTales0x0 SlootyTales0x0

Install the game?

YES

Installing the game goes much more quickly than the download. Before you know it, you're staring at the splash screen. "FANTASY TRAP" appears in plain font over what is very clearly place-holder art. You tell yourself it's OK. As long as the game is playable, who cares if they haven't finalized all the art assets yet? So many people would give their left nut to be in your place right now.

You get taken to the character creation screen and prompted to pick a Role.

Hmm, is that like a Class in other games?

Maybe you should read some of the text in the game...

Unlike other fantasy MMORPG's you may have played in the past, FANTASY TRAP does not have you select a discrete Race and a Class. Rather, you pick the role you would have your character fill within this fantasy world, and the game will assign racial characteristics as appropriate. Essentially, your Class dictates your race as well.

Huh, well that's a bit disappointing. "Race as Class" went out of style decades ago. Still, it's way too early to give up on the game. You'll give this a fair shot. It looks like they've only implemented female Player Character options so far. Bunch of gooning pervs on the dev team just couldn't wait to put some virtual boobies into the game.

Honestly though, they did a good job on the boobies in question--and on the butts, and legs, and every other body part. You can't help but be impressed with the quality of the "assets" in the game, even at this early stage.

There are a line of female silhouettes side by side, but most of them are grayed out so you just focus on the ones that are selectable. You mouse over each one in turn. It looks like there's still a lot of placeholder text in the class--uh, Role descriptions but you're sure you'll be fine. They look like pretty recognizable fantasy archetypes so far.

WARRIOR
Success through strength of arms. Skilled in the use of all weapons and armor.
Starting Zone: Hrothmar Keep

The Warrior is tall and well muscled, wearing a metal breastplate over leather armor. She raises her sword high when you mouse over her. In typical gooner-dev fashion, they've given the Warrior an exposed midriff and a boob window in the breastplate. And the leather armor is tight enough that you can see her well defined ass when you rotate the character model around. Short, dark hair gives the Warrior a cute tomboyish look.

PRIESTESS
Skilled in the restoration of the body and bolstering of the spirit. Limited offense.
Starting Zone: Eastern Encampment

The Priestess raises both arms, one holding her holy symbol, and the other holding a mace. Shoulder length auburn hair wafts in an unseen wind. Leather greaves adorn her wrists and shins, but she is otherwise unarmored. She wears what you'd basically describe as a long-sleeved crop top and a skirt that only comes down mid-thigh. And like the Warrior, the Priestess has an exposed midriff. And she's sporting bare legs. It's definitely a much more appealing look than religious robes, you have to say.

ELF
Skilled with both blade and spell, though will have difficulty truly mastering either.
Starting Zone: Emeress Woodlands

The Elf holds up her left hand, small bursts of magical energy arcing from her fingertips. With her violet eyes gleaming, she gives you a sexy come-hither look before tossing her long platinum blonde hair. You thought the Priestess had a short skirt, but the Elf takes that up a notch. Barely past her crotch, and with a slit on the side but you like the shade of blue they chose for her clothing. Like the Warrior, she also wears a metal breastplate and--yup, exposed midriff. You're sensing a pattern here, bless those devs.

HALFLING
Small and cunning. The perfect scout or thief.
Starting Zone: Guild Quarter

Hmm, maybe they should have called this one a Three-Quarterling instead. She's only a head shorter than the Priestess, and she's got a nice, lean, athletic build. Light brown hair is pulled up into a topknot and she's clad in skintight leggings, and a leather bolero jacket over what basically amounts to a sports bra (midriff exposed, naturally--looks like we're 4 for 4 now).

When you mouse over the character model, she reaches behind her back to produce two throwing knives which she hurls right at you. You actually flinch to avoid the virtual blades.

In a way, you actually appreciate the limited class selection and the lack of character customization. For all you know, somebody at the studio could notice an unauthorized connection to their server and shut things down soon. Best not to waste all that time customizing your character, and spend more time actually playing the game.

You crack your knuckles and limber up your mouse hand. It's time to get this show on the road!

Which Role will you pick for yourself?
