What's next?
Wrestling Girlfriend Dad
"Turn into... my girlfriend."
The suggestion hangs in the air between you. It would be the ultimate psychological handicap—testing whether you could stay focused on winning when your opponent looks exactly like the woman you love most.
Walter chuckles, his eyes sparking with a mix of scientific curiosity and competitive spirit. He heads toward his workbench in the corner of the room to grab the device. "You want to make it a mental game? Fine. Let's see if you can keep your composure when the 'opponent' looks like her."
Walter reaches for the iBod unit on his workbench. It’s a sleek, hand-held device looking exactly like an iPhone that hums with a low, rhythmic pulse, as if it has its own heartbeat. He looks at you, his eyes glinting with a mix of scientific bravado and fatherly mischief.
"If we're going to do this," Walter says, his voice steady despite the madness of the idea, "we aren't going to do it halfway. To truly test your focus—to see if you can look at her and still see an opponent—the reconstruction must be absolute."
He presses the activation sequence on the device.
A low, vibrating hum fills the room, growing into a crescendo that makes the air itself seem to shimmer. A translucent field of light begins to surround his massive frame. You watch, breathless, as the transformation begins. The broad shoulders of your father begin to narrow; the heavy mass of his chest shifts and reshapes with a sound like rushing wind. His height adjusts, and the rugged, masculine features of his face melt and reform into something much more delicate, yet strikingly familiar.
The light intensifies, becoming a blinding white veil that obscures him entirely for a moment. Then, with a soft pop of displaced air, the light fades.
Standing on the mat where your father once stood is no longer Walter. It is her, your girlfriend.
