Chapter 3 by TheDespaxas TheDespaxas

What's next?

Working for his aunt Jill.

K-T had barely graduated high school, but his grades were so bad that he wouldn't be accepted in any good university. Because of that his parents didn't want to waste thousands of dollars sending him to a low grade school nor see him take a huge loan to finance studies he would probably fail at.

What was a few weeks break to find his path had quickly turned into 6 months of him staying at home and unenthusiastically looking for a job. It was very hard to find anything with no qualifications and his lackluster wardrobe had cost him the rare jobs he had been able to interview for. One day he heard his mom call him down from the kitchen with the voice she usually had before punishing him. K-T knew better than to dawdle and quickly rushed down the stairs, only wearing an oversized t-shirt that he wore as pajamas or when staying at home. With only 3 pairs of underwear left and any request for new clothes answered with asking him to find a job he saved them for when he needed to go out of the house.

"K-T this cannot continue like this. You can't stay at home forever like some parasite. And don't think I don't know what you do all day long in front of your computer, your room reeks, keep your window open to air damnit," complained his mother.

"Mom, I'm looking, but it's not easy finding a job in this economy with just a high school diploma. And I really need at least a serious outfit for interviews, the last two almost laughed at me because of how I was dressed. This is not a frivolous expense, it's an investment to help me find a job! " he tried to argue.

"This no longer matter, your aunt Jill found you a job. And your father and I agree that now that you will get a job you will have to pay rent for your room if you want to keep living here." She announced.

"What? But you paid in full for Emily to go to college. That's not fair. I don't even have enough clothes to get dressed correctly to go to work." he pleaded.

"Don't worry about that. I arranged everything. Just be ready for 6:30 tomorrow morning, wearing a bit more than that. I'll have a proper attire ready for you at the office. It will come out of you first check though." K-T turned around to see that his aunt was in the corner of room and that he was so focused on his mom that he had missed her.

To be honest the conversation had gone better than he feared, he expected his mom to tell him that she would kick him out of the house like she had often threatened to.

Jill was his mom's sister and she had a very dim view of men in general and K-T in particular. It was really unexpected of her to help him like that. She was very successful and had changed jobs many times along the years, to date she was the head of a department at a big company in town, but K-T had never bothered to learn which one nor what it did nor what department she was in.

He wanted to ask more questions about the job but all he was said was that it would be easier to explain tomorrow once he would be officially hired. He was just told to go to sleep early and to be sure to be ready on time, clean and presentable to begin his first day.

What kind of company is it? And what kind of job?
