What Task do you tackle next?

Work out

Feeling like you’re on a roll anyway, you decide to go ahead and go with the Work out Task. It isn’t like you have a gym membership or anything, but you know you don’t really need one. Heading back to your closet, you dig through it until you find what you’re looking for: your dumbbells!

Those in hand, you set your phone at an angle and bring up a work-out video from the internet. It’s one focused on cardio, and after taking a breath, you’re ready to go!

It starts out with some warm-up stuff, stretches and exercises light enough to set you up for what’s to come. Then comes the real stuff: jumping jacks, arm curls, sets of punches and kicks, sit-ups, push-ups.

Over the next half-hour, you do everything the video tells you to do. Even after the refreshed feeling you got from the jog, near the end of the work out you’re starting to feel like you might not finish. But you push past that exhaustion, finally crossing the home stretch for the cool down stretches. By the time the video ends, you’re feeling worn out, but satisfied.

You almost forget to mark that Task as done, but then as you’re grabbing a water bottle from your mini-fridge, it comes to you, and gnaws at you until you head over, grab your phone, and put in that you did the Task. Once again, you’re rewarded with a screen letting you know what changed.

For the second time, you’re a little confused at how the app is calculating its stats. Why exactly would working out take your Femininity down that much? It doesn’t make any sense at all to you.

But as you’re puzzling that, more changes occur on your body. Now, you’re more fit than you’ve ever been before, with a toned flat stomach and much stronger muscles. Not only have these filled out your calves well indeed, but if you were to curl your arms you’d have quite the biceps to show off. On the whole, you look like some kind of beginning bodybuilder, your entire frame filled out with muscle.

The changes aren’t only happening in your body, either. Some of your interests start to subtly change. You’ve always had a bit of a weakness for romance stories, but those slowly evaporate, with nothing (yet) replacing them. With that drop in Nerdiness, your pop culture knowledge dwindles further, as concrete details of your favorite films disappear into nothingness.

Looking at your Tasks, you see that two more have appeared to replace the one you finished: Play a game of basketball and Eat a rare steak. Neither are necessarily the kind of thing you’d usually do, but now they’re both looking oddly appealing.
