Work first...

Before things go further you slowly pull back, keeping a firm hold on her so she can't press forward. You grin, once again being captivated by your friend's piercing gaze. "Not right now. We should make sure we've got everything we need to go and that the building is safe to spend the night."

Sam pouts playfully. "Fine. Just know that you're missing out on all this." She teasingly rubs her hands over her curves, sending a fire to your groin.

No no no. We can play once we're safe, no sooner friend.

"I promise. We'll continue soon." You give her another quick kiss then let her go.

"I'll hold you too that." She backs off, giving you both some space. "What do you think we should do then, Captain?" She proceeds to give you a bow and a wink.

"Captain... hmm, I like it. First things first we should grab our essentials and have them ready to go in as few bags as possible." Sam nods along to your words. "Canned foods, bottled drinks, preferably water if we've got much. If not we should fill up spare bottles with tap water."

"Sounds like a plan to start of with." You stare at her with narrowed eyes. "Apologies captain."

"I'll go check downstairs if you want to get started with the bags, I'll come and help once I'm done."

"Sure, sure. Stay safe." She turns to her room and disappears behind the door.

You grab a marker pen and one of the dining chairs to carry it out, into the creepy apartment and down the four flights of stairs. It doesn't take you very long which sort of disappoints you. That old man almost got you less than an hour ago and here you are yet again.

The door looks pretty much untouched from when you locked it before. You stand the chair up and take out the marker pen, uncapping the lid, then readying the lock. With a deep breath you unlock it and moments later you open the door, slowly as your ears try to pick up any sounds from the outside.

With none present you feel a little safer and peer outside. The sun is high in the sky, white clouds drift lazily overhead, and the city sounds absolutely; bone chillingly, dead. This massive mega-metropolis and you can't hear anything.

Still. You came down here for a reason and you ain't about to back away. With the maker in hand you write on the buzzer box for your apartment on the forth floor: 'STILL HERE'.

One more glance down the street leaves you satisfied that you're alone. You go back in, lock the door and secure the wooden chair under the handle. Not great, but it'll let us in and out fast. Time for the back door. And by back door you do mean fire escape.

At the bottom of the fire escape stairs is the first door. Which you check and is secure. You then check each door, at the far end of the corridor, per floor all the way to the very top. You check the roof door but it's locker. The landlord might have the key in his apartment but... his door will probably be locked as well.
