Chapter 4 by Pingu Pingu

What does she pick?

Work at the costume department

"The costume department sounds good," Ella said and Tes showed her how she accepted the task.

"There is a map application for your phone if you get lost," Tes said. "You should head to costumes quickly, so you can get some instructions."

"Thanks, Tes," Ella said. "Want to have dinner in the evening?"

"Tomorrow?" Tes responded. "I have already something in the evening."

"Sounds fine," Ella said.

"And feel free to call me if you need some help," Tes said as Ella left the office.

It wasn't that hard to find the way to the costume department. Although, on the way there, Ella noticed how she was gaining some attention from men and women. At some point she stood at a little intersection, orientating herself, when a woman with purple irises, stopped next to her.

"Cute look," she said. "You a newcomer?"

"Oh ...," Ella said and blushed. "Just working in production."

"Really, what a shame," the woman said and gave Ella a wink. "Thought that was a costume."

Ella blushed and then hurried down the road, which she needed to take. Clothing seemed to be sort of optional at the studio and so she walked past a group of male actors, all naked. She noticed that they stopped chatting as she walked by and was sure some turned their heads.

Finally, she arrived at the costume department. A woman, dressed in a fancy dress, made out of thousands of small, deep green metal disks, seemed to await her already.

"There you are," she said as Ella introduced herself. "I am Madame Miriel," she said and shook the young woman's hand, not without mustering her clothes. "You new or?"

"I am," Ella said. "It's my clothes?"

"Absolutely, honey," the woman said and patted Ella's cheek. "As long as you do not plan to play the role of a good girl from the countryside, you will raise even more attention with that look as you already get for being young and cute."

Ella had noticed how much the dress was pushing the lady's cleavage up. "I ... I had not expected that it would be so obvious."

"Well, well," the madame said. "Maybe we can see about it. If you work a bit longer, I help you with your look. But first, you need to help at the costume desk." She lead Ella to another room, where countless costumes hung at a conveyor system. "The actors come here to get their prepared, sometimes repaired costumes. You scan their badge, ask them which they need and then hand it out. They might want to try it on. If it does not fit, you can send them over to me, so I can take measurements or do quick changes. Same if someone shows up and needs new measurements taken." She then turned to the girl, who was standing behind the counter. "You can call it a day, Jenny," she said and the girl waved as she left.

"Any questions? No. Good," the madame said. "If there are some, you call me."

How does Ella's shift go?
