Work all day

Despite our exhaustion, the work wasn't done. The area was clear but that just meant our 'canvas' was ready. 'Five more minutes, it couldn't hurt,' I thought, stroking Alice's hair with one hand while tracing swirling lines on her bare back; I knew she loved that tickling feeling, as kids she'd always beg me to draw on her back and the shiver she gave told me that the fondness for the sensation hadn't disappeared.

I groaned before tapping Alice’s shoulder, “As much as I'd like to lay here all day just relaxing, I think we need to get a little more work done in this area. So, I've been thinking, we need protection from the wind and the heat of the morning, it's not exactly fun having to huddle up together for warmth in the night then wake up sweating in the morning. We can't very well bring fire into our little house, but I was thinking if we were to be partially underground, the earth would absorb heat."

Alice groaned back at me, "As good as that idea sounds, do we have to get up? It's so relaxing right now."

"Come on, we can relax when we have our new camp, not only that but with the bamboo, we can make fish traps, so we shouldn't need to spend as much time getting food," I explained.

"Counter offer..." She said before thinking, "We stay here for another half hour, and I'll let you play with my boobs the entire time."

Flustered, I pushed her off, "Alright come on, we've lounged around for long enough. We need to get some branches to use as steaks or stones to mark out our new shelter. I was also thinking about it and I'm thinking we can make the surrounding wall bigger, put it over the stream then we can make a bathroom a little further downstream so that we never contaminate the water we drink."

Alice giggled then grumbled as she stood and walked into the forest a little ways, I headed a little off to the right of her and we both began picking up and bringing back stones and branches in order to mark out everything in a more permanent way. Alice still seemed grumpy even after we'd collected everything and I began using the axe multitool to chop and sharpen the branches into steaks. The encampment would now be roughly double the size it was before as we now included around a metre and a half for the river, then over the other side I'd marked maybe another two and a half metres, though since we didn't have a way of actually measuring anything it was just a rough guess.

the stones I'd used to mark out where we'd need to dig, the idea would be to dig until the hole was maybe to my shoulder, then we'd build up a foot and a half one side and two and a half on the front to make the roof. I knew we wouldn't have time to dig the hole today but I thought the least we could do would be to get a head start on it by pulling the top layer off so I dug down maybe 5 inches or so and was glad to find it was soft sandy earth. While I was digging I chose a good spot for a fire pit and dug down roughly five inches again before filling it with stone and making a safe circle of stone to protect the area from the fire as well as protecting the fire from wind.

Once I was happy with everything going on at our new camp, we brought over some of the bamboo so that Alice and I could spend a good few hours making fish traps, we'd need a few of them and the tools we had plus the strong materials made it so we got three made up before needing to go back to camp.

Once at the camp, we baited and weighed down the fish traps before anchoring them to shore and placing them a good distance out in the ocean. Then we both sighed as we both slumped down next to the fire pit on the beach.
