With the only weapon you have!

You don't have much at your disposal when it comes to weapons and that narrows your options down when it comes to possible plans of attack. But you do possess a mysterious and powerful Artifact, do you not? The gauntlet is supposedly some legendary item from ages past so it should possess enough power to match the golem's strength and break through its rocky armor, should it not? Steel versus stone, even magically enhanced stone, should end in the steel's victory, shouldn't it?

That is what you wager on as you dive through the golem's legs as it slams its fists down at you, missing you narrowly and cracking the ground instead. You leap to your feet after your evasive maneuver, the golem already turning back towards you to try and attack. You waste no time, however, as you wind back your right hand and lash out with the pointed, claw-like fingertips of the gauntlet. You slash at the rock creature's midsection with the gauntlet, the Artifact glowing with that red aura of dark energy as you attack.

Your attack is aimed true and the gauntlet's claws score the golem's rocky hide, scraping away stone and earth from it. But it is not enough as you only manage to dig shallow furrows into the creature's "skin". For, while the Artifact is indeed a powerful and ancient thing, YOU are still but a human. A somewhat changed and strengthened human, but a human nonetheless. And, strong as you are and diligently as you trained for war, you do not possess the physical strength to break through thick rock, especially rock enhanced by whatever magic animates the golem, in one blow. With a few multiple attacks, perhaps you could do some real damage, but to expect to fell the creature in one strike was foolish.

In any case, you would not get the chance to strike multiple blows as, in coming in close to strike with the gauntlet, you had brought yourself right into the golem's range and lost your chance to dodge to instead try and attack. So you cannot react in time to dive out of the way as a stone fist bigger than your head hurtles down towards you. You don't even have time to have a proper last thought before the stone golem's fist crushes your skull, breaking through bone and flesh as easily as if you were made of dried twigs. Your body is crushed beneath the golem's heavy fist, bone splintering and blood spraying to leave nothing more than a gory stain where once the former knight named Jacen Wolfe had been.

Your ruined body and the gauntlet now without a person to wield it remain entombed in the dark caverns until another individual stumbles upon the dark Artifact in some time in the future, but, by then, you and your quest for **** will have long been forgotten. Forgotten and lost to the darkness.
