With pure, unadulterated, shock!

Issei, who had just been taking a drink from the beverage Raynare had just handed him, absorbed Xenovia's words as she spoke them. Whatever he had expected from Xenovia, it had certainly not been that! Sure, he had seen through his magic vision what she was interested in, but he had not anticipated her to come to that conclusion almost immediately. So his reaction to the request was a totally epic spit take.

Unfortunately... Raynare was still in front of him, so she got sprayed. Much to the delight of Akeno, who took a moment to commit the sight to memory, before she doubled over, laughing herself sick. "Oh, wow, that was awesome! Do it again, do it again!" she cackled like a hyena.

Koneko meanwhile had sat, hugging her knees to her chest with one arm, drawing aimlessly on the floor. "Why? Why am I the only sane girl around here?" she whined to no one in particular. Kiba gave her a sympathetic smile and patted her back.

Raynare's eye twitched rampantly as she wiped the sugary drink off her face, and grimaced at her hair being matted by the liquid in it. She looked up at Issei, her face full of a deceptive calm. "...you have three seconds to live," she told him flatly, forming a Light Javelin.

"Eeek!" he yelped, immediately ducking under her immediately contradicting that statement by her attempting to stab him in the face right then and there instead of counting, and ran behind Rias. Raynare grumbled, dismissing the Javelin. She'd of course known it wouldn't hit, Issei was an absolute pain in the ass to try to hit nowadays.

"Seriously?" Issei asked, wiping his mouth, staring at Xenovia, stepping out from behind the amused Rias. "That's a bit sudden, don't you think?"

Xenovia blinked and flushed. "Err, sorry, didn't mean to make you uncomfortable..." she admitted, shifting on her feet nervously as she placed her arms behind her back. "I just... Well... Got a little caught up in the moment, I guess?"

Issei sighed. "I know that Rias said we live according to desires and whatnot, but we should spend at least a little bit of time together before rushing into something like that. It was only Rias I jumped into this with without any building of a relationship, and that's because she was a Genie. Sure, we moved in on such things a little fast with Asia, Akeno, and Raynare, but not THAT fast!" Even Asia had spent a bit with them, before joining, and she had been the fastest aside from Rias.

"...but did we not already fight together once?" Xenovia asked thoughtfully. "Against Kokabiel. Surely, there's already some camaraderie between us..."

"Yeah, but that's not the same thing as actually being in, well... A relationship!" Issei sighed. Koneko had meanwhile broken out of her depression to look up at Issei, having expected him to jump on the opportunity. She was pleasantly surprised to see that he was at least somewhat thinking it through. Once again, she slightly revised her opinion of him.

"Oh... Oh! So you're saying we should take some time to really get to know each other first," Xenovia pounded her fist down into her palm as if reaching some sort of grand epiphany.

"Yeah... Pretty much..." Issei chuckled. She was definitely a bit socially stunted by her upbringing at least. It was actually kind of endearing.
