Ever so slowly the lust faded from her eyes until Soifon finally spoke up. “This was really good but I have work to do.” I understood and quickly rose from the table. The second I no longer blocked her movement Soifon vanished, I heard a light tap as her feet hit the ground behind me next to her clothes.

I took one last look at her fine ass before walking over to my own robe. Then we both were fully dressed and got into our positions again, each on their side of the table. I saluted and Soifon looked at me with her usual iron eyes. “I will now go after my mission, captain.” I said, my voice calm and collected. “That would be best.” Soifon answered “Be sure to report to me first after you are back, I don’t want the Kuchiki’s to get their hands on you.”

She picked up her pen, “You are dismissed. When you are outside tell Omaeda to get in here and clean up that mess.” She grabbed the closest sheet of paper and started working again.

I hesitated, there was still one more question I had to ask.

“Captain…” I stopped again, I knew that she wouldn’t freak out but still. Soifon raised her eyes. “What is it? I would ask you to not waste time that could be used to work, neither mine nor yours.”

A deep breath, the air cleared my lungs and my mind. “If I come back would you go on a date with me?” From what I understood of the powers of earrings if I didn’t use the phrase normal than she wouldn’t be **** to do something that she didn’t want to do.

I may be a pervert to some extent and I couldn’t guarantee that I would stay monogamous with this much power at my hands but…

To put it shortly, where I grew up, you know back when I was alive, discipline and will where the greatest attributes a human could have and the captain was like the embodiment of these. I didn’t exactly have a crush on her but great admiration and I now had the unique opportunity to get closer to her.

But forcing my way into her life by simply bending her feelings to my will seemed wrong.

Soifon looked at me with curiosity. I guess she was thinking if I was worth her time. The last time I was this tense was in the recruitment camp.

“If you finish your mission I will consider it.” Well, I had expected a denial, after all I was…Wait what?

“Are you serious?” I asked. Soifon sent one more annoyed glance at me, “Yes, now stop wasting everyone’s time and get going.”

I wouldn’t stretch my luck any further. A quick salute and I left the captains office with lofty steps, as instructed I told the vice to get in before making haste to the portals.

“To Karakura City, Japan.” I told the Shinigami at Dangai duty, as always it was someone from the twelfth division. “Show me your certificate please.” I pulled out my mission-permit and the Gotei 2 license. The Shinigami new that this meant that it was a secret mission so he asked no further question. Instead he handed me a small piece of paper.

The paper had a list of dates, each one week apart. I knew what this was, the list of days when the Kototsu would sweep the Dangai. “Thank you.” I said and walked over to the opening portal. “Have a safe trip.”
