Cassie felt the ice in her stomach melt, replaced with a fire. That fire was anger, brought about by such a suggestion. Her more indignant stance returned, even though she didn't look or move away from Fonzie. She didn’t try to refuse this offer, not yet, but she would be damned if she’d let her nemesis set the terms of how this was going to work, or how it would change things between them afterward.

"...Let’s get one thing straight,” Starslip declared, her body still shaking despite her attempts to control herself, her voice rising higher with each sentence spoken. “I am here to get this…THING out of my system. And you're completely delusional if you think anything that may or may not happen tonight could EVER change who I am, or make me want to change what I do. And when this is over, we’re going right back to how things were, and I will not stop until you are sitting in a prison cell with a life sentence!"

When she finished barking out these words, panting a bit at how forcefully she said them, Cassie kept a close watch on Fonzie’s eyes, waiting to see how she’d react. She wasn’t even really sure how she wanted her to react, be it to back down or to come at her even harder. But she nonetheless did her best to keep up a strong front, even as her legs wobbled slightly beneath her.

However, in her heart, Cassie had to admit that she wasn’t surprised to see Alfonso smirking cockily. The Purple Paragon’s best attempt at a confident stance was doing nothing to make the mob boss feel any less in control. If anything, watching the blonde try so hard to wrench away control of the situation only made Tammy want to break her spirit more.
