With due care and arrogance

"Buenos Dias Senora," Rafe says obsequiously to the woman as you trail slightly behind. "What can we do for you?"

"Take my daughter's luggage to her room. Show him the room assignment Noelle. Can either of you read?"

"Si Senora, I read the English very well," you say, falling into Rafe's subservient act and looking at the paper the plump blonde girl shows you. "We get the bags there no problem." The girl seems utterly uninterested by the proceedings, almost detached from them.

"And where can my daughter's car be parked?" the woman asks, gesturing to a German sports coupe with a young black man in a suit standing by the open driver's door. "That paper says a parking space but where is it?"

"There's underground parking Senora," Rafe says, smiling deferentially. "Just follow that side road around this building. You can't miss it."

"Very well. Henry, go and park Miss Noelle's car and come back here. And don't be long, I don't have all day."

"Yes Ma'am," the young black man answers before getting into the coupe and driving in the direction Rafe indicated.

"What are you two waiting for?" the woman asks with an exasperated sigh. "Take my daughter's bags to her room. Here Noelle, take this and give it to them if they do the job properly." You suppress a grin as you see her hand the girl two one dollar bills.

As the mother and daughter exchange goodbyes you and Rafe pick up the luggage and start to walk down the path to the Burnside building.

"Welcome to Pink Rose vato," Rafe mutters quietly as you walk.
