With a Heist on a Cargo Train

A military cargo train was racing across a railway. It was carrying an assortment of military-grade weaponry and armour on it, even some prototype weapons that could lead to quite a lot of chaos if they fell into the wrong hands, which is why the train is heavily guarded on both the inside and outside. Military watch points were set up all along the railway at key points, preventing anyone from even so much as approaching the vehicle without being either killed or arrested. Meanwhile, each train cart is guarded by at least five guards, who are tasked with keeping an eye out for anyone who had managed to sneak into the train and keeping inventory of the cargo to ensure that none of it has vanished under their noses.

Yet, despite every precaution put in place, something was wrong among the security. In the cart that was third from the caboose, there were six guards inside one cart, five of whom were knocked out cold. The one guard left standing sauntered over to a cache of weapons and gears. She was wearing the typical grey uniform and military cap her companions were wearing, she had short black hair, green eyes, and a face full of freckles. The guard had a short stature, only standing at 4'10, which made the machine gun she carried look bigger than normal, despite it being a regular size and commonly used, as two could be seen next to two male guards who were laying on the ground. Once the female guard reached for an armoured case and pulled it toward her, she slid it out of the cache. Delicately placing the case on the ground, the guard flipped up the two latches keeping it closed and opened it up, causing a blue hue to radiate out of it. Inside the case was a glowing orb of energy, encased in a cylinder-shaped glass container with two metal handles on each end. A toothy smirk formed on the guard's face as she reached into her pocket and pulled out a white rectangle with a golden diamond on it. Pressing her finger on the diamond, the device expanded, forming a holographic screen in the center of the two white rectangles, acting as a smartphone or tablet. When the guard pressed on certain icons on the screen, the device entered photo mode, with the camera facing forward. A series of pink particles then surrounded the guard, and as they moved off of her body, they revealed a completely different person.

Gone was her short black hair, which was replaced with a much longer hairstyle that reached her waist. Her hair was two colours, the right side was pink and the left was brown. Her eyes followed a similar pattern, with her being heterochromatic, her eyes matching the colour of the right and left halves of her hair. The freckles were also out, leaving her skin featureless apart from the green eyeshadow she wore. Replacing the bland guard uniform with a much more interesting outfit, she wore a pair of white pants and a matching buttoned-up vest top that left her abdomen exposed. Her hands were protected by white gloves, which also partially concealed the sleeves of her chocolate brown jacket, which began below her shoulder. The black combat boots she wore turned white and became heeled spats; a scarf formed around her neck; and the cap she was wearing was replaced by a black bowler hat with a red stripe running down the middle. Even her weapon, which rested on the ground, changed; the machine gun transforming into a pink parasol. With her disguise undone, the petite woman picked up the glass case by one of its handles and held it up to her face as she took a selfie. The woman then placed it back inside of its case and closed it, locking its hatches into place. The girl then began to mess with the icons on her tablet a bit more before entering the message screen, where she sent a picture of herself to someone on the other end before sending a message that said "I got it!!!" with a heart emoji at the end of it.

A second or two ticked by before the the woman received a reply back, "Well done, Neo" the message read, cause the woman, Neopolitan, the smile. Neo pressed the home button of her scroll, causing it to fold into its compact form, allowing her to place the device into her pocket. The petite woman than grabbed on both her parasol and the handle of the case and lifted both off of the ground as she stood up. Resting the parasol on her shoulder, the woman began to saunter off, heading toward an one of the trains exits.

But before Neo could get any further, a voice called out to her from the shadows, "Stop right there!" Neo wiped her head around to face one of the dark corners of the cart and starred at it for a bit, awaiting the interloper's next action. A few seconds passed without anything happening, causing the parasol wielding woman to blink twice in confusion. "No, not over there! Over here!" the voice called out from a corner opposite the one Neo had been staring at, causing the petite woman to look over toward it. From out of the shadow stepped a woman with blonde hair and blue eyes. Her hair was styled in pigtails with the tips dyed red and black, which matched the theme of her outfit. She wore a red jacket over a corset that was one-half red and one-half black. Her pants were similarly coloured, though the red and black were on the opposite sides in comparison to the corset. Black diamond shapes were scattered about her outfit, and her black belt had buckles shaped into two letters, an H and a Q. A large wooden mallet with four diamond-shaped handles, one half red and the other black, rested on her shoulder, and the words "HAHA" were written on the faces of the mallets. The most interesting aspect of the woman, was that her skin was bleached and pale white. "I just knew that someone was gonna try and steal shit from this hunk of junk!" She said, giddy, in her Jersey accented voice, taking the mallet off her shoulder and tapping the ground with it to emphasize her feelings about the train.

Neo looked the woman in the eyes, mostly unimpressed, before raising an eyebrow. "What? You mean you don't know who I am?!" the woman shouted, her tone a mixture of confusion and disappointment. Neo responded by shaking her head from side to side while pursing her lips. The woman soon shook off her despair and went back to being excited. "The name's Harley Quinn, former henchwoman and current vigilante, sometimes a semi-solo mercenary, and also a licenseless physiatrist." Harley announced as she reached into an inner jacket pocket and pulled out a business card before flicking it over to the shorter woman. Neo caught the card between the two fingers of the hand she used to hold her parasol and looked it over. The business card was rather messy; it wasn't just the garish use of colours, but also the tons of scribbles on it, which Neo guessed were a bunch of failed business ventures that the vigilante needed to cross out. Besides that, the card read what Harley had already told her. Neo glanced back at the former criminal with an unimpressed look still resting upon her face. "Only on weekends." Harley added on to the latter part of her previous sentence.

While Neo was able to board the train using her semblance to disguise herself, Harley, on the other hand, had to use her skills to board the guarded vehicle...AKA pure dumb luck, in that she was able to drive up to the train by accidentally using a blind spot in its security and using it to slip in undetected and hide out in it until a thief showed up. Though it's not like Harley couldn't have planned out something like that, especially now during her days as a mostly solo hero, it's just that, more often than not, Harley Quinn was more reckless than anything. "So, are we doing this or not?" Harley asked, raising her mallet off the ground and using it to taunt the shorter woman. Neo simply rolled her eyes and set in the case she was hold onto the ground before gently kicking it back, allowing it to slide of short distance away from her.
