With A Basketball Teammate

(A/N: I’ve been kinda feeling like moving the same connected plot along so that those who want to finish one line of the story entirely can read it through regularly. Kinda unplanned where I take each decision as I’m blind writing this to be completely honest lol. Some decisions are much more interesting and exciting for me to write than others, like you may notice the Toxic and Friend Zoned paths have zero choices so far lol. As mentioned I probably won’t end up doing all the different pathways as that would take literally forever, but I’ll try and at least completely finish this one for both the male and female perspectives and then see what happens from there for some of the other pathways. This is also partially why I’m presenting the choices at the bottom so you can use your own imagination for some of the other possible outcomes and branches I haven’t written and/or don’t plan on writing for a while.)

You spot one of the other people that look familiar to you, someone that will be joining you on the basketball team. While you don’t immediately remember the name, you do think you remember the face and he’s currently sitting alone so you decide to sit with him for now.

“Hey, what’s up. I think I know you from basketball?” You introduce. He smiles politely in response.

“Oh nice, I’m Danny. Basketball would make sense, that’s the main reason why I’m here along with the academics of course.” He replies, as the name sounds familiar when you hear it again and you make the connection.

“Oh that’s right! Yeah you’re the shooting guard, I remember now. I’ll probably be playing Point for us this year so nice to meet you.” You say as you sit down across from him. You don’t know how crowded the tables are going to get so you want to give him a bit of space for now until you have to start squeezing in if that becomes a necessity later on.

You continue to carry on a casual conversation with him, talking about some of your favorite basketball players, moments, games, etc. from your own playing experiences as well as more famous college and professional moments as people start to arrive and take seats. Soon, a couple other basketball players show up, and eventually the entire projected starting lineup is all sitting together. You see a couple of the other players you know heading towards some of the other Civilization tables as well, which of course you’ll have a different set of relationships with as you continue to meet and interact with them. For now though, your main focus is on your teammates until the opening dinner bell is rung and everyone quickly quiets at the loud tone.

“Welcome everybody to Cielisium. Today is our grand opening and we could not be more proud to have you all join us as our first class of incoming Freshmen that will be here with us all 4 years.” Chairman/President of the Board Justin Johnson said, the man you met first in the selection room when you were assigned to the Cardinals Civilization. “Today you have already begun your journeys into the next era of your lives as College Students on our campus, and brought in the new year hopefully in a positive way, knowing that whatever the future holds for you, you can create a path of greatness for yourselves and others here around you.” Mr. Johnson continues. “Congratulations to everyone here on your admissions to this incredible campus, where you will have everything you could possibly need and it will truly become your year round home for the next four years. You will face many challenges here, some lighter than others, but they will all help prepare you for what you face in the future and will guarantee you are ready to make the world around you a better place as a leader of the next generation.” The speech continues for a short while longer, before he rings the bell again to cheers of celebration at officially becoming an admitted student.

They call up each of the tables one by one to walk up to the food setup, as it appears to be somewhat random the order that the Civilizations were set up in, but ended up being seated as Dolphins, Cardinals, Squirrels, Wolverines in that order. Once your table is called not too long after the four initial Dolphins tables have concluded, you receive your student ID upon verifying your name and birthday and are then given your plate to choose your food.

You end up going for some pasta as your main dish and play it a little bit safe, also going for some fruits, vegetables and a little bit of meat but not a lot especially compared to some of the other guys you see around you.

After finishing your food, you notice that a lot of of the other students have started to clear out. There’s a few groups scattered around but each Civilization that started with 4 tables is now mostly down to just one each including your own. While you’ve been focused on eating as well as occasionally jumping into the conversations the basketball team is having, you’re largely just enjoying the moment of your first day. As you’re looking down the table to see what other people from your Cardinals Civilization are still left aside from your 4 other basketball teammates, you happen to catch a glimpse of Emily again. You’re not surprised- she’s definitely social and she seems to be enjoying herself. Still though, your glimpse is enough to get the attention of Danny.

“Lucas? What’s up? You okay, you seem to be staring towards the end of the table?” He asks.
