Wish for Power

"So then, what kind of wishes can you give?" I asked curious.

"I can give anything you desire." She said. "Go ahead, ask away. The second you say, 'I wish for' then it will be done!" She said turning her hips a bit, her tail coiling around her leg idly.

"I am tired... Very very tired of being a good for nothing street rat." I declared. "I wish for power!" I said clenching my fist.

"Oh! A popular one!" She said with a wink. Behind her I saw pillars of flame, and nothing but red suddenly as pain ached dull in my chest and the world before me faded away.

I woke up, and everything seemed the same. My heart seemed to ache, but I didn't know quite what the deal was. I shrugged. "Whatever, just a dream."

I glance at the clock.
