Chapter 24 by SingingLark SingingLark

Filthy rich naive princess. How does Liandra treat her newfound wealth?

Wisely

Liandra had generous ideas of how she would spend the dragon´s horde gold to help improve the life of her subjects, but she was wise enough to discuss her ideas with Ophelia before she took any decisions.

"I don't think that is a very good idea, Liandra... In the end people only have what they make with their own hands and sweat, and if you have more gold in a kingdom these things just cost more... You can do what you are saying, but people´s coins will be worth less the more you do" She didn't want that, she just wanted help to come out of nothing.

"Well, maybe you can get services outside the realm... But merchants are shrewd devils, whenever they are human or something else." Liandra was worried about the same impact happening in another place, and Ophelia agreed it would "But you can spread it thin across several partners, princess. It truly is a lot of gold..."

They discussed for a long time, and in the end agreed that the Dwarven realm Stonecrown would be the best start. She would ask them to create engineering works in Luxius, something that couldn't be done by local artisans and mages.

Princess Liandra was hailed a heroine when she returned home and told her tale, people started calling her the Dragon Princess. Her friends were publicly honored for their bravery, Rodrik was even granted the title of knight. The princess discussed briefly with her Father and Mother about what she wanted to do with the dragon´s treasure, and unaware of just how large the treasure was, they agreed to humor her.

Liandra mentioned to no one her ruined maidenhood, but at least she wasn't pregnant. Ophelia remained by her side and became a trusted, and sometimes intimate, advisor.
