Chapter 23 by Vox121 Vox121

What's next?

Winter Vacation

It had been four days since Emma kissed me. Four days of absolute ****. Okay, so that might have been a bit exaggerated. It was one of those things that faded into the background when I focused on other things, but the moment my mind started to relax, there it was again. And I knew, I knew I shouldn’t read into it. She had clearly done it to fuck with me. I hated how easily she had done it too.

Logically, the kiss meant nothing. A peck on the cheek was hardly worth agonizing about. Yet that photo lingered. Haunting me whenever I went to unlock my phone. Yeah. I made it my lock screen. Really, really dumb and a clear indication that I was losing my damn mind.

Yet there it was. Staring me right in the face as I stared at my phone. The worst of it all was it was a damn good picture. I didn’t look horrible in it, my smile appearing genuine. As for Emma, she legitimately went for it. Like this was a real couple photo or something.

Clad in flip-flops, swim trunks, and a towel draped over my shoulders, I stared at the photo for the thousandth time as I rode the elevator up to the eleventh floor. Since I could already feel the burn starting to set in, I needed to take a break from the sun. A nice nap to escape my thoughts sounded fantastic right now.

Placing the card against the reader, the electronic lock disengaged and I opened the door. It wasn’t until I had taken a few steps inside that I realized what I was walking into. Right there in the shared space were Lilian and James. Lilian was on all fours with my brother’s big hands on her waist as he thrust himself against her. They were sideways to my current position, so they hadn’t noticed my entrance. Me? My eyes were right on those wonderful tits. They had an erection-inducing sway as she moaned my brother’s name.

I might have gotten away unseen had I moved a second faster. By the time I went to retreat outside, the heavy door closed with a loud clank. Turning around, I found both of them staring at me.

“S-sorry,” I managed, avoiding them by staring into the empty bathroom.

“That’s okay,” I heard Lilian say. I peeked. I couldn’t help it. She had already scooted away from James and had a towel covering the front of her. “See? I told you we shouldn’t do it here,” she said in a fierce whisper before swatting him on the arm.

“Five minutes. No! Eight,” James said, looking my way.

“We were just finishing,” Lilian said with a scowl.

“Not me—”

“James.”

With a growl of frustration, he went for his trunks and quickly pulled them up.

I loved my parents, but this was one of those clueless moments on their part. Why the hell did they put me in the same room as these two? It made me feel bad for James. I didn’t want to cockblock him, but it was extremely hard when you shared the same room. We weren’t little kids anymore and needed our space—especially since James had his girlfriend along.

Lilian gave me a warm smile as she passed me, disappearing into the bathroom. There was a faint red to her dark cheeks as the door closed.

She had a really firm ass—

“Enjoying the view?”

My head snapped over to find James standing a few feet away. He didn’t seem angry, at least not for catching me eyeing his girlfriend.

“Sorry,” I managed.

“Don’t worry about it,” he said with a long breath, pushing his hand through his hair. Fucking hate how that motion combined with his rock-hard abs and pecs made him seem like he was posing for a men’s magazine cover. Shit was worse than that. He had the body that would grace one of those erotic romance novels targeting women.

Passing me, he pressed himself against the bathroom door. “Babe, whatcha doing?”

“Taking a shower.”

“Sounds like a great idea! We should take one together. You know…conserve water.”

“Ha! Nice try loverboy. We both know it would take twice as long if you got in here.”

He tried the door and found it locked. “Damn it,” he muttered. I gave him an apologetic look as he walked back into the room. Yawning, he scratched at his chest before falling back on the couch. Walking past him, I almost made it to my bedroom. “Hey, Isaac.” I stopped and looked back at him. He was flipping on the TV. “How are things with that girl of yours? Anything exciting happen since Thanksgiving?”

Exciting? Everything about her was exciting. Whether that excitement was healthy or not was another matter entirely.

“I guess so.”

“Oh?”

After a brief debate, I pulled out my phone and showed him my lock screen. He let out a low whistle as he looked at it. “Even if she isn’t looking at the camera, I can tell she’s a looker. Grats,” he said with a punch at my arm.

“We aren’t dating.”

He laughed. “Riiight. Could have fooled me.”

“She does things like this to mess with my head.”

“Or she’s dropping some major hints.” I shook my head. “Come on, Isaac. She’s literally kissing you there!”

I took back my phone. If only I could show him the other photos she had been sending me.

“She’s probably waiting for you to make a move.” I looked down at the photo, my chest tightening. “I mean, it would clear things up, right? Even if she rejects you, which I don’t think she will, you’ll finally have your answer.”

“I guess.”

He grinned, spreading his arms out over the back of the couch. “When you finally start dating, let me know. Lilian and I can drive up and we can have a double-date!”

I glanced towards the bathroom, listening to the water running. “What about you two? Everything… okay?”

His grin faded as he quickly glanced over towards the bathroom. “So far.”

“No changes?” He shook his head. I sighed.

He gave me a sad grin. “Yeah, so if you want that double-date, probably should hurry up.” I continued back to my room, about to close the door. “Hey, Isaac?”

“Yeah?”

“You know those headphones you brought? They wouldn't happen to be noise-canceling would they?”

Sighing, I closed the door.
