The match of the ENF tournament is now officially closed. It was hard fought, with up-and-comer ellysusername going head to head with the previous champion, Splotch.

Splotch wrote a story in which poor Sophie was subjected to the machinations of her rival, Paige. Photographed and stripped, she was made to help her enemy cheat before being sent out naked into the night.

Ellysusername countered with a story of a doomed visit to the beach. Of the cruel hand of nature and the desperate run back to safety that comes after it.

Both characters and authors did their very best in this round and they should both be proud. If it were down to me, I'd put both to the next round but that's not how it works here at the ENF tournament. Only one can pass on and according to the voters, that person is ellysusername. I want to give a hand to both splotch and elly here, as they both turned out fantastic works. elly will be moving on to round 2 and Splotch will be moving to the defeated bracket. Perhaps we've not seen the last of him? There's always room for the ambitious to win their way back to the top.
