Willow Appraises the Situation

Afternoon Day 1

If you want on how the math rolled out for the last turn, there is a thread at the bottom, but I'll keep such things in their own thread.

Willow looked over the book as she tried to figure out how to improve the spell, while trying not to think about everything that had happened. She might not have gotten a good view, but she was very aware of what happened with Amy.

Amy, right now Buffy was talking with her. Her fellow witch seemed surprisingly okay. She wasn’t pleased with how the situation had gone, but just kind of shrugged it off as something that happened.

Willow knew it was magic. If this continued pretty soon they were all going to be seeing things like that as completely normal.

Though what happened to Amy was different than the others Willow realized as she looked to Faith.

The dark Slayer was off in a corner pacing. Willow knew she wasn’t upset by the sex act she had done with Giles, more about how quickly and easily the magic had overwhelmed her. Sex Faith could deal with, maybe even lose of control during sex was fine, but even when you were okay with it, the magic was a hit to the psyche. Willingly walking into it didn’t make it easier, it made it worse.

As for what they got out of the sacrifices, well, it was a start. According to Giles' notes a ritual was coming up. Apparently this specific one was a fairly regular occurrence. Sacrifice to a demon. What demon, what sacrifice, and where, that he hadn’t gotten to. But they had a date. Midnight in three more days.

The magic was distracting the entire town, and Willow didn’t have any better of a grasp of the specifics than when they went to the frat house. Buffy had given her plenty of time, but she also had at times been distracted by the noises from upstairs. She knew though that it wasn’t _just _coming from frat row. The spell indicated that there were focal points all throughout town. Destroying them at this point wasn’t an option. They needed to find them, learn what symbols were used, so they could come up with a counterspell.

Until then, the town was in danger. She looked at Dawn. The girl was all giggles and it looked like she was almost…flirting, with Cordelia. Dawn hadn’t said what was happening over by Janice or what was going on with the area. Maybe someone else would have to check it out.

“Hey,” she heard Xander say as he came up. “It’s about time we head out again. How is the spell?”

“We still all need to leave, but it will be different tonight,” Willow said. The barrier around her house still needed to grow in strength. “So, any ideas about what we need to look at?”

"Checking out those police over by Janice's house is not a bad idea," Xander said. "Maybe check the cars this time. Dawn isn't telling me what she did, but it seems like it was mostly spending time with Janice."

"Any of us could handle that, no need to send the Slayers."

"Any idea what we can do about the magic issues?" he asked her.

"I could use some supplies from the magic shop," she answered. "Need to run through a few ideas."

"Um, Magic Shop was pretty crowded when I swung by," Xander told her. "And not just by people, quite a few demons."

"I think I can handle myself. I can take Buffy or Faith with me if you think it is necessary."

"Or you can just give them a list," Xander suggested. "As for what might be going on, I had a suggestion. Snyder always seem to have a handle on things in Sunnydale when magic pops up, but he's been MIA since this whole deal began."

"Maybe he's been affected by the magic as well," Willow said with a grimace, not wanting to think about what running into Snyder under the current situation could mean.

"Or, he knows more than he is letting on," Xander pointed out.
