Chapter 15

Well, who is it?
Wilderness Girls!
As Jayne opens the door, you cannot help but think that while she did, in fact get dressed, it would be a stretch to say she looks as if she is expecting company. Instead of just tossing on a shirt and some shorts like you did, she slipped on emerald green corset, and some tights, which made her already bright magenta hair stand out even more. You wouldn't say she looks bad, not at all. Just not like someone who is expecting a knock on the door. Much less someone who is EAGERLY awaiting that knock.

Nonetheless, the knock comes and Jayne opens it to reveal...a girl scout and her mother. Not exactly what you were expecting. The mom is probably pushing forty, streaks of gray are appearing in her brown hair. She looks good, in the way that an expensive health routine and having a plastic surgeon on call can look good. The daughter is probably eighteen. Or at least really close. Dark hair, dark makeup. This is quite possibly the darkest Wilderness Girl you've seen in your life. And neither of them look like they want to be there. The daughter is clearly displaying the teenage angst of someone who has been dragged into doing something they don't want to do, and the mother really doesn't appear comfortable in front of Jayne and her...attire.
"Hello, Jayne, right? I know your mother from the HOA meetings, and this is Mr..." she pauses to look at her notes,"Mark Smith? My name is Shirley, and this is my daughter Vanessa. We're here to offer you a great deal on Wilderness Girl Cookies."
The daughter picks up where her Mom left off. "Proceeds from the sales of the cookies go to the local Wilderness Girls troop, #616, and help provide young girls with the skills they need to develop into well rounded women." Ah yes. The enthusiasm of youth. You can practically see the sarcasm dripping of her tongue.
"Wilderness Girls! That's awesome! My sisters were Wilderness Girls! They loved it." You're trying to put your guests at ease, to little avail it would seem. "Neither of them stuck around after they got their driver's license though. I think it's great that you're still in it."
Before the mom can respond, the girl in the scout uniform lets loose. She's clearly been through this before. "If it wasn't for the fact it looks good on a college resume, I wouldn't be. Oh, and the fact that mother here makes me." She hisses, barely hiding the scowl she levels at her mother.
"Come on Nessa, you need the extra-circulars, and you get to spend time with your sisters!" Shirley pleads. Turning her focus back to you. "I'm sorry, it's been a long day, and everyone in this neighborhood seems to be on a diet. We've had a hard time selling any at all!"
"Well you're in luck!" Jayne squeals. "We'd love to take a dozen of the Choco-Wafers, five of the Peanut Butter Clusters, six of the Aloha-Sunrises and however many of the Fudge Surprises you've got! What are you all looking at? I used to be a Wilderness Girl too. You cannot get these cookies outside this month. We can throw them in the freezer and have them year round." Jayne, clearly, knows her cookies.
"Might as well throw in a couple boxes of the shortbread cookies too. I'll go grab my wallet." You add in, as you head back to find wherever your pants landed.
"Wow...you just single-handedly helped us hit our quota!" The mom gushes. Even Vanessa looks happy. If only for the fact that might mean they can go home. "That will be $146, please. And I hate to be a bother, but if you can break some bills for us, we'd appreciate it.
"Oh, no bother at all." Jayne purrs, with a coy smile on her face. "We'd be happy to help you make some change."
Wow. Real subtle. But you get the hint. You find your wallet, and flip the switches on the gun. Both to Δ. Time to see what the changes the gun produces. "Okay, you said $146..." Vanessa is absorbed in her phone and doesn't respond to you at all, Shirley however, is looking at you as you round the corner and sees the gun in her hand. Before she can react, Jayne dives out of the way and you pull the trigger, once, knocking Shirley to the ground. After recovering from the recoil, you bring it to bear on on Vanessa who was taken completely by surprise.
"What the fuck was..." ZAP
When you open your eyes, you notice two things. One, that during one of your shots, your thumb must have flicked the person icon switch from Δ to π. The second thing you noticed, well second AND third, is that Shirley and Vanessa are gone. In their places are two very different women.

"You know, Veronica," said the heavily pierced and tattooed woman standing where the older Shirley had just been, "I think our new favorite clients qualify for the Customer Rewards Program."
