A couple of glasses of rice wine had made Matt tipsy, giving him false confidence.

He leaned forward. "You know, the three of you are so pretty, but we're all wearing way too many clothes. How about if we save some calories and eat each other for dessert?

"Oh, there's an original idea," Pam said. "What red-blooded high school kid wouldn't want a foursome with a hot MILF, and a couple of cute Asian hotties?"

"I think," Mrs. Phuan said, "that you should not have drunk the rice wine. I will take you home now. You are not welcome in our home. And Cindi, you will not be going to the dance and will request a new lab partner tomorrow."

"But--" Matt had been certain he'd been on the right track, that these women needed a man.

"There is no but," Mrs. Phuan said. "Your suggestion is rude and inexcusable."

The worst part wasn't Mrs. Phuan's anger. It was the disappointment in Cindi's eyes.
