Chapter 17
by SingingLark
So what is Liandra's true calling? Whore, princess or both?
Whore
The princess wrote the following letter to her parents.
"Beloved Father, beloved Mother
I love you both dearly. I haven't been a very good daughter of late. You both showered me with your affection and, like a flower too long in the sun, I am withering, and turning into a spoiled girl with no use for her family, her friends and her kingdom. Nothing could be further from my wishes.
I was saved by divine guidance, even though I had to be told twice before I grew to understand what I had to do. I have to leave. It pains me to write this, but I don't think I will return. Know that i will pray each morning for your health and happiness.
Yours truly,
Liandra of Luxius"
She gave it to one of the queen's handmaiden in the morning, with orders for it to be given to the King and Queen in the noon.
It was a rainy day, so no one noticed the cloaked figure carrying a small bag with a few common dresses. The princess exited through the servant's entrance, for she knew that particularly guard always tried to woe one of the kitchen's hand.
The rain got worse the further the princess was from the castle. She wasn't going to give up, and walked for what appeared to be over an hour, even though she didn't have a very good idea which direction she headed. At some point a tall man started to walk besides her, and covered her from most of the rain. She didn't need to look to know him for Yogodol.
He guided her to a small tavern close to the market. It was a two store building, and appeared rather cozy. 'The princess favor' Liandra read. She entered alone, to be greeted by a young voice "We are still closed". Liandra saw a woman perhaps her own age cleaning the tables. They measured each other, and didn't need to exchange any words. She just nodded her approval, and Liandra went to help her.
They had ample of time later to talk, and introduce to each other, and the two other girls that also worked there. Ophelia didn't ask for a teary story, respecting Liandra's privacy. What she was more interested in was Liandra's experience, and was rather surprised by how limited it was. "So... lets do this. We shall auction it tonight, and divide it in equal parts. That is the only rule in this house, we always divide it in equal parts, no matter who is gifted what"
The place got busy soon, and Liandra was left to wait at the door. Most customers noticed the new girl, who just smiled and gave short elegant bows. At some point in the night Ophelia, after coming from upstairs, said: "The princess favor greets her newest addition... princess Liandra herself" everyone though it a witty wordplay, and clapped when their favorite whore made Liandra make a little spin for all of them. The whistles came when Ophelia grabbed her boobs. "And a virgin, I promise! Well, almost, if the lips don't count" Everyone laughs
The bidding ended at three dozen golden coins, almost the full rate of any of the other girls. The winner was a carpenter, who was full of gracious courtesy to his princess, inviting her upstairs. He wasn't unattractive, he had an honest face with a large jaw and a well kept beard, and his large strong hands bespoke of an able artisan. He seemed like a very salt-of-the-earth kind of person.
But is Liandra really sure about this?
