Who doesn't love a bit of backstory?

"What?! No way! You totally cheated!" Amilia says with an accusing tone.

Kyuala smugly before saying, "No I didn't, I simply outsmarted you, like I always do, so, you lose, ha ha haha ha".

Amilia grunts in frustration as she gets up from the ground and wiping the dirt off of her fur as she says, "You always say that but you never tell me how you did".

Kyuala laughs again, "Maybe i'll share the secret one day, but for now, come on, there's something I wanted to show you".

"What is it?" Amilia asks but her question falls on deaf ears as Kyuala marches forward with purpose while Amilia sighs before running to catch up with her friend.

A FEW MINUTES LATER:

Amilia and Kyuala stop just outside of a tent that Amilia doesn't recognise, that's when she asks Kyuala, "Hey, what is this?".

"You'll see" Kyuala says with a twinkle in her eye as she looks down at her smaller friend, "Now c'mon, follow me".

Kyuala takes Amilia's hand and walks up to the tent, they then wade through the tent and that's when Amilia sees what's inside, an elven man standing in front of strange looking painted moving wall while holding some sort of contraption.

The two walk up and the elven man says, "Ahh, hello girls, to what do I owe the pleasure?".

Kyuala speaks for them, "Umm, are you a, pho-to-gra-pher?".

The man chuckles, "I am a photographer yes, would you and your friend like a picture together?".

"Yes please!" Kyuala responds as Amilia sits there in silence, unsure of what to say.

"Okay, since you asked so nicely, i'll give you one for free, so, stand over by the backdrop and i'll get it set up" The man says to the two girls who do as he says.

They stand there, both unsure of what to do but that's when the man says, "Okay, now look towards this-" The man points at the lens, "And when I say cheese, smile, okay?".

The girls nod as they look towards the lens and wait for his word.

The man gets behind the standing camera and gets under a large dark sheet and gets the camera prepared.

After a few seconds of tinkering, he calls out from under the sheet, "Alright! Say cheese!".

"Cheese!" The two girls say as they smile as wide as they can, hugging one another as tightly as they can, looking dead inti the lens as they do.

The camera then flashes which suddenly blinds the girls for a moment as they weren't ready, just then, the elven man emerges from under the sheet as he says, "Perfect! Now, give me a moment and I will get your picture".

The man takes a piece of paper and shakes it, after shaking it for a bit, he hands it over to the girls and says, "Ta-da!".

The girls look at the picture and they smile instinctively as they seem themselves in the picture, happy at the results.

As they do, Kyuala then asks, "Is there any way to make more pictures and make them smaller?".

The elven man laughs, "One moment my eager friend" The man takes the picture back and he begins to wave his hand over it, suddenly, his hand begins to glow a gold-ish light with his eyes doing the same.

He then places his hand on the picture and then with a twinkling wooshing noise, the picture has now transformed from one solid piece into two smaller oval shaped pictures.

"Is this to your liking young orc?" The man asks.

"Perfect! Thank you so much!" Kyuala exclaims as the man hands the pictures to the girls.

"Well, you two better get going now, don't want to be caught by the biting night bugs do you?" The man asks with a laugh in his words as the girls head to the curtain.

"Thank you again" Kyuala shouts back.

"No problem little one, enjoy your gift!" The man shouts back as the girls walk away from the tent.

A LITTLE BIT LATER - THE MAR'AZU HOME:

Kyuala and Amilia are sitting on the floor in the large central hexagonal tent that makes up the biggest part of Mar'azu home.

The girls are giggling as they talk about the people that they saw, the gossip that they heard and even the fun they had during their game.

But all that comes to a half as Kyuala says, "Close your eyes".

Amilia is confused and it shows in her face so Kyuala reassures her, "I promise I won't do anything bad, just, close your eyes, please?".

Amilia grumbles before relenting, "Okay, okay".

Amilia then takes a breath before clamping her eyes shut, waiting for whatever surprise Kyuala had in store for her.

A few worrying moments pass by for Amilia as she hears Kyuala moving around, seemingly grabbing something from a hidden space.

Amilia tries to listen in, hopefully getting some sort of clue as to what it is, but a few moments later, Kyuala puts her hand on Amilia's shoulder before she says, "Open up!".

Amilia's eyes open up and that's when she see Kyuala sitting in front of her once again, this time, with a box in her hand accentuated with a bow on top.

Kyuala hands the box over to Amilia before saying, "Happy birthday!".

Amilia takes the box from Kyuala and stares at it, she examines it for a few moments before saying, "Thank you so much! But you didn't have to get me anything".

"Of course I had to! You're my friend Ami, I love you kitty cat!" Kyuala says, causing a huge smile to appear on the cat's face before the two grab onto each other for a big hug.

They eventually break the hug and Kyuala begins to excitedly say, "Open it, open it, open it! I wanna see if you like your present!".

Amilia giggles as she grabs the bow and begins untying it, the bow the falls from the box and that's when Amilia grabs the sides and slowly lifts it up.

The top of the box opens up and that's when Amilia sees her present, a small ornate silver brooch and her face lights up as she grabs it and brings it out of the box.

The young Amilia is shocked by how nice the brooch looks and that's when she eventually says, "Oh my H'nod, this looks, so cute!".

Amilia latches onto Kyuala to the surprise of her orc friend who simply says, "I'm so glad you like it".

"Like it? I love it!" Amilia says before letting go.

The two friends laugh for a moment but as the laughing quietens, Kyuala says, "That's not all, look inside it".

Amilia is intrigued, wondering what could be inside, so she looks around the brooch and then she sees the little opening at the side so she brings her finger to the side and opens it up.

Amilia's eyes open up and that wide smile returns to her face as she stares at the contents of the brooch.

Inside of the brooch is the picture that the two girls took just a few hours earlier.

Amilia looks up at Kyuala who now has a brooch of her own, that's when Kyuala says, "I got us these so that no matter what, we're always together".

They duo smile at one another as they put their brooches around their necks before Amilia says, "Together, forever".

The two friends hug once more as they relax by the fire.
