The mother's eyes fluttered open, her vision blurry and unfocused. She looked around the room, her gaze settling on Ms. Thompson, who was standing by the bedside table, her fingers brushing against a stray lock of the mother's hair.

"Ms. Thompson?" the mother asked, her voice raspy and weak.

"Yes, baby, I'm here," Ms. Thompson replied, her voice soft and soothing.

The mother's gaze drifted downwards, her eyes scanning her body as if searching for something. Her hands moved, slowly lifting the blankets that covered her. A faint stain was spreading across the sheets, a dark patch that seemed to be growing larger by the second.

"It's okay, baby. You've been through a lot today. It's normal to have some physical reactions after a breakdown," Ms. Thompson reassured her.
