When I'm Observant

If there were a prize for the most unobservant person in the world, I would probably win it. For some reason I just didn’t notice anything around me, no matter how much it would affect me. So it really came as a shock when I noticed her sitting across from the butcher shop, I just left.
She was at the outdoor patio of “Eats and Drinks Cafe”, sitting with her cell phone in her ear, as if either making or receiving a call. She was wearing a sweater over a grey top with a pair of jeans. I had never seen her before now, but suddenly I wanted to know everything about her.

Just as suddenly as I spotted her, whoever she was got up and left., going north on Streamcrest Way. Without thinking I followed her for a few blocks before she went into the public library there at the intersection of Streamcrest And Martin Road. I made to go in but stopped when I noticed a stand with a directory on it. The library had four floors, two only reachable by elevator. Both of which were already on the third and fourth floor.

With no way possible to figure out which floor she was on. I decided to go home and make a chart of what I could do to find out who she is! On the way back to my car which was still outside the butcher’s shop, I imagined her still sitting at the cafe, but now she was motioning me to come over to her.

Letting my imagination take over, I started across the street only to have the horn of a transit bus and a police car bring me back to reality. I returned to my car and got in shaking from my stupidity. That was when I made the decision to stake out the cafe in hopes of seeing her again. Placing my parcel of sausages on the passenger seat, not even realizing that I had carried them to the library and back this whole time, I hoped that I hadn’t spoiled them but keeping them in the warm morning air.

Starting the car after I calmed down, I drove back home, unaware that whoever she was lived in my building!
