What choice does she have?

Suddenly alone in her old room, Lucy didn't know what to do with herself. She stood up, on two legs for the first time since that morning. It felt good to stand again, but the thought that she'd only be able to do it during brief unsupervised moments was depressing. Still, Lucy took the opportunity to stretch before she walked over to the window.

Out there lay an unknown. The way her family had treated her, they hadn't simply fallen for whatever lies they'd been fed by people at her college. Lucy couldn't explain it, but she didn't doubt that they truly believed she was meant to be a pet. Would everyone else here see her the same way, or dare she hope that some of them might help her reclaim her humanity? She could climb out the window and find out right now, but if they turned her in or Abigail caught her sneaking out she'd never get a moment to herself again. There was no sense in taking such a risk when all she had to do was wait until one of the neighbors came to visit, or - she shuddered at the thought - her family took her for a walk outside.

Sighing, she turned away from the window and sat down. Just in time, as the door opened to admit Abigail with a plate of diced fruits. Setting it down on the bedside table, she made herself comfortable on the mattress and waved Lucy over. "Hop on up, girl."

Climbing onto the bed, Lucy sat on her knees in front of her crosslegged sister. Abby popped a grape into her own mouth, then placed half a strawberry on her palm and held it out. Knowing what was expected of her, Lucy bent down and used her lips to take the fruit out of Abby's hand. She wished she could eat normally, but this wasn't so bad. At least Abigail saw her as a pet worth caring for and treated her with compassion instead of trying to break her by ****. Plus the strawberry was delicious. Lucy smiled after swallowing it, and then made a face like a dog asking for more.

Abby laughed. "Learning to beg already? Dad would say I'm spoiling you, but I'm doing this for your health. So what if we're having fun at the same time? Healthy things don't all have to be gross."

Lucy nodded her agreement, and Abigail held out another fruit for her. They emptied the whole plate together, Abby feeding herself and Lucy plucking fruits off her hand with her lips or licking them up to the sound of Abby's quiet giggles.

When the last morsel had been eaten Abigail looked at her sister-turned-pet thoughtfully. "Do your teeth still need to be brushed? Another thing to ask daddy tomorrow. I think we can both skip it for tonight, I just want to go to sleep now. Come on, I'll take you downstairs to your new bed."

Lucy grabbed her sister's hand and shook her head frantically. No way was she going to sleep in a doggy bed in the living room, she didn't know how her parents would treat her if Abby wasn't there when they woke her. "Okay, okay." Abby said. "If you're scared to be alone you can sleep here. I'll talk to dad about moving your bed up here, but just for tonight I'll let you sleep on mine."

Relieved, Lucy lunged forward to hug Abby. Abby hugged her back for a while before pushing her away. "I have to get undressed."

For some reason this made Lucy blush. She'd been naked for most of the day, in front of strangers and her parents, but the thought of watching her sister strip still embarrassed her. She turned away quickly, looking at at the wall until she couldn't hear any more rustling.

When she turned back Abby was sitting on the bed in her underwear, a simple white bra and panty set. Then she was under the covers, and moments later so was Lucy. The naked young woman cuddled up to the not-so-naked girl, who pulled her in until Lucy's head was resting in the crook of her neck.

Soon Abby started snoring softly, but Lucy stayed awake for a while longer to enjoy her gentle embrace.
