What choice did Mari have, really? Having the DD Brigade finding out about all of the naughty things that she had been doing was bad enough, and Marigold barely even knew them. She couldn't possibly imagine what she would do if the DDs told her friends at the BB Brigade about everything that she had been doing... and everything that she had seen.
But she couldn't. They were asking her to take her clothes off! No-one saw Marigold with her clothes off, not even the members of the BB Brigade when they were changing into her cosplay. She had gone to so much effort to hide her body from them, even her beloved Kiki. Suddenly Mari was very aware of the weight of her compression vest on her body, and her heart dropped out of her chest. The DDs couldn't possibly want that, too, could they? They had to let her keep her underwear on. They were being so mean, but there was no way they would be that mean. They were people too.
The looks on Saki and Corinne's faces told Mari that she shouldn't be so sure about that. Corinne looked ecstatic and heartless, and there wasn't a hint of sympathy on Saki's face. Maybe everything that Lynn had said about Saki-chan and her ruthlessness was true.
"I--" Mari stuttered. She looked down at herself. "I c-can't!"
Corinne's grin spanned from ear to ear. "That's a bummer," she said. "I guess I'll just have to go see what the 'Baby Buddy Brigade' thinks about what their little friend has been up to today." She shook her head, not even looking Mari in the eye. "They'll feel so... violated. And so disappointed, I'm sure. I know I would be if I caught Rachel peeping on me!"
Rachel rolled her eyes. "Go fuck yourself, Corinne."
"She loves me," Corinne assured Mari. "Now if you'll excuse me. I've got some weaksauce amateur cosplayers to catch up with." She turned to leave.
