What Next?

From the darkness there comes a light.

"Sweetie? Don't open your eyes yet. Now say something."

"Now I know how Wile E. Coyote feels." You hear a small chuckle.

"Ok, slowly open your eyes."

And the light bestows the face of an angel looking onto you.

Nicole flicks her penlight away from you. "Pupils contraction normal. How many finger am I holding?"

"Cole, are you okay? And where did you get the costume."

"Answer my question first. How many fing.....

"Two fingers."

"Ok you're fine, your lucky that we're nurses. You took a good whack to the head." Perking up some more. "There's a comic convention downstairs and we ran into a Hollywood costume designer with a makeup artist. So we decided to gussy ourselves up. What do you think?"

Your vision finally clears up and that's when you realize Nicole and the girls are still in costume all around you. "They look great but the way you flipped out. I thought what I was doing wouldn't bother you at all.

"Oh no it doesn't bother me, I was just in character. Because everyone knows Harley loves her Puddin. She nuzzles her nose into your face and gives you a quick peck.

"Well you had me convinced. You ever wanted to be an actress?"

"Yeah but at the time, I was living with my aunt since my parents died and she put me through nursing school to take care of her. I really love what I do but..." She looks away, her voice hinting what could have been.

"You've wondered what might have happened?"

"Umm, is it safe to come out?" From behind the curtain, Missy pops her head out with a fearful look.

Nicole's face switches dark. "Girls, you missed one."

Like a wolf pack, Emily, Michelle, Danielle and Tiffany move towards Missy. Missy let out a short scream and made a dash for the door. That's when you noticed the room damage.

Everything was trashed. The couch is on fire and the chicken was pecking on the spilt booze.
