Well...

You mull it over for a second before you relent.

"Yes, Mrs. Johnson." She leans forward and clicks the lock shut.

"There you are, all ready to meet my daughter. Pull your pants up." You do as she says and pull up your pants. She gets up from the sofa and sticks a finger in your chest. "And one more thing, you will speak to my daughter with the respect she deserves. That means no more lousy nicknames. She is Miss Johnson to you." You feel like this is a little too much, but you don't have a choice. In for a penny, in for a pound. Mrs. Johnson walks towards the door, and you quickly gather up the box before following after her, but when you turn to walk up the stairs to your room, she stops and turns around.

"Where are you going?" You stop mid-step.

"To put away the box, Mrs. Johnson." She crosses her arms and clearly disagrees.

"You will do no such thing. The box is coming with me, and I don't have time for dilly-dallying." You turn around as you realize that Mrs. Johnson doesn't compromise. She makes you put on her coat and walks to her car while you get your coat and lock the front door. She waits for you by the driver's door of her car. You wonder what she is waiting for.

"Not much of a gentleman, are you? I'm going to have to fix that." She stands there waiting while you rush to open the car door for her and help her in. Then you make your way around the car and get inside the passenger door. She looks pointedly at you.

"Was that so hard?" You say nothing to her, stare bores holes at your side. "That is another thing you must learn if you want to continue seeing my daughter. She is a princess and should be treated that way. If I find you slacking, you will have to be punished." You wonder if she is like this to Sam's dad. You have rarely met him. Usually, he works late, and you have only seen him once or twice in the time you have known Sam. Quietly you say.

"Yes, Mrs. Johnson." On the way to Sam's house, you sit quietly and think about your situation. Sam's mom is quite bossy. You hadn't noticed that before. She has always been somewhat cold toward you, but not like this. Silently you wonder what Sam is going to make of this...
