Chapter 26

But where should you start?
Well you're the king of the castle, so that castle of course.
Walking back to the crafting bench, where you somehow tailored items out of nothing. Well life was strange in this castle... your castle now. More options were available beyond just crafting that were possible by the tabs that hovered to the side; Basic Crafting/Upgrading, Construct/Upgrade Facilities, Castle Management, Minion Management, Faction Management, Dungeon Master Skills and ???.
Faction Management and ??? weren't actually functional tabs but the others did bring up different items from nowhere; Basic Crafting/Upgrade just has the table, Construct/Upgrade Facilities makes you get out blueprints for better closet, crafting table, bed and quite a few other new facilities, Castle Management made a map of the whole castle roll out and upon focusing on each floor the map changed, Minion Management had an empty clipboard which showed that there were no minion nor minion stations in the castle and finally Dungeon Master Skills which brought up a abacus of all things which showed that currently I had two beads in Crafting and Disassembly while only 1 bead everywhere else.
Going back into the Castle Management you see all 4 floors of the castle. They had rooms with functions but because of wear and tear, none of the room could function to do what they needed to do, which included calling in undead, dark mages and the rest of the lot that used to be around. Seeing just corridors and rooms of stone for each floor was quite depressing, but you lacked the resources to change the castle to have a courtyard (You needed dirt of all things) or liven things up because your lacking resources. Checking around for special rooms made you find only a few of them seemed to hold anything but debris; the second's floor grand dinning room that went into a Ball room where ghost used to thrive was in disrepair but was less destroyed then the other rooms, third floor had only functioning type of room which was storage rooms that were also on the first floor but this one actually had empty old chests and old armor stands with scraps littering the rest of the storeroom.
Finally the fourth floor was just the stairs leading up, a hallway and then the doors to my square little room.
Learning what I can do brought a new system in, Work. I had 100 work I could spend to work on the castle in ways that didn't cost any materials which included mining floors or bellow the floors, collecting items that were located within areas and oddly enough sending minions out to terrorize the outside world.
A quick plan came to mind, as you quickly look through trap options and reinforcements that one could make. Using 60 Work to dig up a rectangle hole that was 30 Cubic Meter or more like two cubes of 15 Cubic Meter atop of each other in your room before placing a spike pit trap which was linked to opening old treasure chest to when the pit trap would open. Repairing the old trapped treasure chest costed 2 wood and 2 iron before giving the option to turn into a storebox where I could put stuff for safekeeping unless a hero finds it or I could turn into Trapped treasure chest Level 1 which holds common items of the dungeon level. You choose the second option before looking into traps that could be put into the chest and I was glad that I could use a simple crossbow trap that costed 2 wood and 2 iron.
Once that was done, the last 40 Work was used to gather what I could with it from the fourth floor storehouse.
Standing up from the crafting bench I was glad when I noticed the resources on the side of my vision:
Wood: 10 - 8 = 2. Wood Fragments: 0 + 12 = 12. Iron: 14 -7 = 7. Iron Fragments: 0 + 12 = 12. Stone: 5 - 4 + 25 = 26. Stone Fragments: 0 + 32 = 32. Spiderwebs: 0 + 8 = 8. Cloth Scrap: 0 + 17 = 17. Dust: 0 + 121 = 121.
[Refine? Yes/No]
Quickly clicking yes so that this whole thing would be more compact.
Wood: 2 + 4 = 6. Wood Fragments: 12 - 12 = 0. Iron: 7 + 4 = 11. Iron Fragments: 12 - 12 = 0. Stone: 26 + 8 = 34. Stone Fragments: 32 - 32 = 0. Spiderwebs: 8 - 8 = 0. Silk: 0 + 40 = 40. Linen: 0 + 4 = 4. Cloth Scrap: 17 - 16 = 1. Dust: 121.
Mining leveled to Level 3.
Increase base digging by 0.06 Cubic meter.
Increase tool digging by 6%.
Increase chance of higher quality mineral will be gathered.
Wood Craft leveled to Level 2
Decrease in resource cost by 2%
Scavenging leveled to Level 2.
Increase chance on finding items in environment by 5%.
So you've used all your Work for now, what will you do besides wait for more adventures who will most likely kill themselves on your basic trap set up.
What to do in a lonely castle, what to do in a lonely castle?♪

Game Monster
From Creep to Boss
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
