Chapter 20 by ThomasMoro ThomasMoro

Well, she could have cursed Buffy for only one hundred years, but, nah, some people gotta be special...

Back in her clothes-wearing days, Buffy would have responded to the news of this latest curse in a myriad of ways including blushing, flushing, wincing, squeaking and the traditional outright faint. But now her first response was a bit more serious: "What the fuck, Willow?"

"Why are you yelling at me?" asked Willow. "I didn't do anything."

"Yes, you did," said Buffy. "You just cursed me to go naked forever."

"That wasn't me," said Willow. "That was someone else."

"Who else could it be?" asked Buffy.

"Actually, it was me," said the same voice from nowhere that had spoken before.

"Who's me?" asked Buffy.

"Your old friend and arch-nemesis Marcie Ross," said the voice.

"Marcie who?" asked Willow.

"Not funny," said Marcie.

"No, seriously," said Willow. "Marcie Ross? Do I know that name?"

"Well, it does sound kinda familiar," said Buffy. "I just know that I've heard it somewhere before -- I'm just not sure where."

"You met me in your first year here at Sunnydale, Buffy, " said Marcie. "Surely it hasn't been that long ago."

"Well, to tell the truth, a lot of stuff has gone on since then," said Willow. "I'm sorry if we can't remember you but if we could see your face, that might jog our memor -- "

"I'm invisible, you idiot!" exclaimed Marcie. "Obviously you're not going to see my face."

"Oh, you're that Marcie Ross!" exclaimed Willow. "The Invisible Girl! Now I remember! Whatever happened to you?"

"Whatever happened to me?" asked an exasperated Marcie. "Why I -- I got drafted by the government as a secret agent."

"Oh, so you're a spy?" asked Willow.

"Yes," said Marcie proudly.

"Cool!" said Willow. "I bet you're just like James Bond, huh?"

"Willow!" exclaimed Buffy.

"I'm sorry, Buffy," said Willow. "But it is kinda neat."

"Well, this has been fun," said Anya, "but I really need to get home and see if I can salvage my prom dress."

"Damnit, Willow," said Buffy. "Don't let her leave. She still owes me."

"I owe you?" asked Anya. "What exactly do I owe you?"

"I saved your life from that creature, Anya," said Buffy. "And in return, you cursed me in response to a wish from a former enemy."

"Well, I don't know about the 'former' part," said Marcie.

"Anyway, that doesn't exactly say 'grateful' to me," said Buffy.

"Well, my hands are tied," said Anya. "I can't do anything for you without a wish."

"A wish, huh?" asked Marcie. "Okay, in that case, Anya, my new bestie, I wish you were in a nice, safe place that was as far away from Sunnydale as possible."

"Wish granted," said Anya with a smile.

Then she vanished.
