Welcome to the Bunny Barn

It took only a short time to walk to the first store on your list. You didn’t encounter many issues on the way other than some side-eyes from groups of Characters on errands or employee Characters goofing off, probably wondering why a Prime Worlder is out and about during this lockdown. You had ignored the gossiping and other antics(including a dance off in the middle of an intersection of the concourse between a Star Lord (from Guardians of the Galaxy), Dazzler(a Marvel mutant), and a Lilo Pelekai(from Lilo and Stitch); the Lilo was winning). Along the way, you had to stop for a mop bucket race to pass by; a monkey with a baseball hat was in the lead, followed by a Bloo and a Star Butterfly. You vaguely recalled the monkey from an early 2000s Cartoon Network show while Bloo was from Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends and Star Butterfly from Star vs the Forces of Evil.

Shaking your head as you heard a loud crash in the distance and the cry of a cabbage vendor and a colony of catgirls, you walked into the Bunny Barn with everyone minus Marinette and Erza (who went into the Dupain-Cheng Threads next door). You hummed to yourself as you looked around the store. There were multiple tables and displays filled with folded up bunny girl outfits and even a few reverse bunny girl suits. Off to the side there was a smaller display for bunny guy outfits. Here and there were shelves with bunny girl products, special brushes, combs, shampoos, accessories, and more though the shelves looked pretty bare. You spotted a group of girls with bunny ears huddled in a corner doing something but you paid them no mind for now.

You and Clover sweatdropped and shared a look at the oversized bunny cage water bottles next to the labeled “Bunny Girl Treats”.

“This store is really… interesting,” Alex said as she held up a bunny themed headband warmer. You chuckled to yourself, she didn’t know the half of it. Looking back at a display showing off the latest Bunny Barn playboy bunny suit design, you tilted your head on seeing the empty living mannequin frame. There were several oddly shaped and bent metal rods jammed into the locks. It took you a second to realize they were display peg hooks that got really messed with.

“That’s certainly creative,” Diana commented to which you nod. “They must have lost the key.”

“Or they weren’t allowed to let the living mannequins out,” you say as you turned your attention to what you came to this store for. “We’re looking for supplies for Yunyun, we ran out of the special shampoo and cream for her bunny ears and tail.” She could also use a new comb you think. Looking at the selection, you didn’t initially see the exact brands your dad’s company always used for bunny girls with brown and relatively straight hair/fur and that Yunyun had been using while she was at your parent’s house.

You point at a particular section, seeing the name of the shampoo you were looking for on the price label but just an empty row behind it. “Looks like they’re out.” Your ears twitched as a loud cheer came from the group of bunny girls in the corner. Turning to the closest of your harem (Gogo and Ahsoka) both of whom were holding up a matching set of reverse bunny suits on custom hangers. “Why don’t y’all try those on while I ask if they have some in the back?” Gogo gave you a flat look while Ahsoka looked like she was considering it.

Laughing it off, you walked over to the bunny girls, who you realized were seated on the cash register counter while they faced a TV and game console set. Both the TV and game console still had various tape and packaging on it while the group played a new fighting game, one that looked like it had various mages, witches, druids and others from across fiction. The group had a Atsuko(or Akko) Kagari from Little Witch Academia wearing a bunny suit and transformed via magic into a bunny girl like in the anime, a Yoshino from Date a Live wearing a white playboy bunny suit, a pink eared Kuku from I’ve Been Killing Slimes in a black reverse bunny suit, a Lum from Urusei also in a reverse bunny suit (tiger print of course). It was very clear from the price tags, that all of them except Akko used to be the living mannequins that were in the picked frames.

As you walked over a Mikuru from Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya with actual bunny ears(modded most likely unlike Akko)and a red bunny suit walked out of the back with a crate of easily recognizable Hetap brand ‘sodas’. Mikuru froze on seeing you and not spotting anything to mark me as a Character, she quietly backed the way she came.

You rolled your eyes a bit and leaned against the counter next to Akko as the bunnies still haven’t noticed you, too engrossed in the game as Akko demolished Lum in the game using the Chariot character. “Can I play winner?”

“Naaah, Miku’s turn’s next when she gets back with the…,” Akko elongates as she briefly looks over at you. Her eyes widen as she finishes her statement a full five seconds later, dragging out the ‘e’, “...beer.” She glances down at your neck then your arms, gulping as she too doesn’t see any Character marks. She and the other bunnies quickly stand in front of the TV set, failing to cover it.

“You didn’t see anything right?” Akko and Kuku give you sheepish grins before Akko droops at your raised eyebrow and the others give resigned frowns. “Please don’t tell our manager, he’ll tell the owner. And he’s way worse.” You decide to tease them a little.

“I won’t if you could maybe help with something,” you suggest nodding at Akko. She grimaces as starts to reach for the zipper of her bunny suit as her hello bunnies start to cry out in protest.

“Come on, our futons are in the back,” She grumbles over them as you wave your arms to stop her before she can unzip all the way. “

“Not that I would mind!” You stopped her, grabbing her hands. Holding up your phone, you showed the picture of the shampoo bottle. “But I just wanted to ask if you had Carrot Yeager brand shampoo in the back and maybe Idun mark body lotion? I couldn’t find any.”

“Eh–?” Akko burst into a crimson blush as she realized the misunderstanding.

“Be right back!” Akko shouted as she took off towards the back, struggling to zip up the bunny suit as she ran into the back. As soon as she ran through the doors, there was a crash as she ran into someone. A moment later a beer covered Mikuru stumbled through the doors in a daze as a concerned Alex approached her.

“I guess Akko and Mi-chan did forget to restock after the rush,” Yoshino said with a few nervous laughs as she looked around the store and the low amount of stock out. The bunny girls slowly started to relax as you and your harem conversed with them about the store’s products and their experiences in the mall. After a few minutes a fluttered Akko rushed out with two boxes and pushed them into your arms.

“Have a good day!” Akko shouted as she started to push you out the door as your harem looked on with grins the traitors.
