Chapter 11 by Sojaxx

Welcome to Bright Moon, Catra

"Uggggggghhhhh! Are we there yet?" Groaned Catra.

It was bad enough when she had to wake up early for training. Now she had to do so after sleeping on the forest floor by a princess no less. Then again, the ground was just as bad as the barrack bunks. At least Adora's lap made a comfy headrest. Still, she would have preferred to ride the rest of the way but Glimmer beat her to it. All because she was almost out of princess juice. Catra didn't buy it but it was too early for to put up much of a fight. "Just a little further," Bow assured her.

"You said that like an hour ago."

"Since when have you been any good at keeping track of time?" Adora questioned.

"...well it feels it's been an hour," she said in a huff.

"I know this hasn't been easy but this is still better than going back to the Fright Zone." Catra didn't fight Adora on that. She'd take a sleepless night over getting on Shadow Weaver's bad side. Though she wouldn't be able to relax until they were figuratively and literally out of the woods. For all she knew, Shadow Weaver could be using her magic to spy on them from the shadows. Only Adora was able to ease her worries just by holding her hands "It really means a lot that you came with me."

Rather than show any weakness to Adora, she brushed it off and told her, "Of course I had to. Even with your freaky fart lady, you wouldn't have lasted a week without me."

"Psssh, you would have missed me." Adora retorted.

"I also would have made **** captain."

"Oh man, '**** Captain Catra'," She snickered

"It could have happened!"

"I'm not saying it couldn't, but you'd totally let it go to your head."

"Big talk from someone who quit before she even started."

Glimmer groaned as the former Horde soldiers continued their little back and forth. Bow noticed her irritation and told her, "Try to relax. Your mom is going to be psyched when she finds out what who we're bringing back."

"I know. It's just going to be tough convincing her take them both on. Adora is nice but Catra is a little...difficult."

"She's not so bad. When they're together, they're just so adorable. Between you and me, I think they like each other."

"Pfft, as if!" Glimmer waved off. "I'm just worried about her behaving in front of my mom. If she suspects that Catra hasn't changed-"

"It'll be fine. Besides, how much trouble could she possibly get into?

"Catra, no!" rejected Adora.

"Come ooooooooooon," whined the feline, sitting inside Glimmer's posh, pink bedroom. After climbing into the castle through the back, Glimmer and Bow left Adora and Catra to go find the queen. Leaving Adora with time to practice turning into She-ra and Catra time to lounge around being bored. "They won't notice if we sneak out for a little bit. Don't act like you're not starving."

Adora's stomach growled and proved Catra's point before Adora could deny the claim. "This is bigger than breakfast. We have a chance to undo the damage the Horde has done. All we need is to pledge our allegiance to the Rebellion and show that we aren't with the Horde.

"You think we'll get our own room?" Catra wondered, pawing at the drapes. "Cause I am not sharing a room with Sparkles the She-stud."

"Catra, focus!"

"I don't get what you're all worried about. We never did anything wrong. It's not like we destroyed any of those villages."

"You were driving a tank the other day!" Adora reminded her.

"And I only ran through two huts. Empty ones." Catra laid back and flicked her tail.

Adora sat across from her and sighed. "I know that you're not always keen on following orders but please try to behave. I want to make a good first impression. Think of this a chance at a fresh start. A chance to show them how amazing and useful you are."

Catra appreciated the praise but kept her gratitude bottled up. If this was her fresh start, she didn't want to appear soft. Adora stood back up and resumed shouting that dorky battle cry. Failing again and again to trigger her transformation. As much as she loved watching Adora, Catra couldn't take being cooped up for much longer.
