Chapter 13 by Zeebop Zeebop

How Does Lois Handle The Revelation?

Weirdly Happy About The Unexpected Pregnancy

Lois Lane put a hand to her mouth. Her other remained on her swollen midsection...and something inside of it moved again. She almost squealed.

I'm pregnant, she thought, stupid tears blurring her vision. Fingers probed her sexy little belly. I'm really pregnant!

The reporter couldn't even say why she was crying. Up until now, she'd not been thinking of having children, but now just the sensation of life within her...

But how? The reporter thought. I didn't have sex. I couldn't...

She stared at the idol. Back to her stomach. The pieces clicked together.

Somehow, the statue made me pregnant!

Lois bit her lower lip so that she could explore her stomach with both hands. Her navel hadn't sunk in, not the way it would if she was fat. If anything it was shallower...being pushed out from the inside. When this night had started out, her abdomen was smooth and flat...but now it was definitely protuberant, with a hint of a dark line leading up from her crtoch, and she could feel something inside, like a water balloon, beneath the skin. More than what just her binge-eating would account for...and the reporter's stomach growled as she realized how hungry she was.

Automatically, the reporter's mind went to the all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet just down the street. It had wifi and was open all night.

The reporter was dressed and out the door, in minutes, laptop under one arm. Lois opted for her stretchy exercise pants with the elastic waist and matching top and sneakers. She looked like she was on her was on her way to the gym...but the reporter had a feeling before the night was over she would be grateful she didn't wear anything tighter.

As her steps led her toward the restaurant, Lois tried to think. What if she wasn't pregnant? What if it was some sort of demonic parasite? She should call one of her friends at the Justice League, like Zatanna. Maybe the witch had even heard of this 'Blaze'...and then Lois was stepping through the neon-framed door of Chin's Chinese Cafe, and it was like her brain turned off, mouth salivating as the warm smells from the buffet hit her.

Does Lois regain control of herself, or hit the buffet like a nuke?
