Ultrama'am is powerless in the presence of ultranite. The Violet Flashlight's power buckle doesn't work on anything green. Cinder can be taken down with a fire hose. Many heroes and villians have a weakness or vulnerability to exploit. If all powers ultimately come from the person's soul, why do these exist? The answer comes in a couple of broad categories.
