We manage to get a table

The four of us took a quick Uber ride to the pub, chatting excitedly. Melody initially wanted to ride up front, but as Taylor was clearly the tallest, the high schooler ended up in the back with me and Monica.

While she kept looking for Monica for comfort, I couldn't help but notice that Melody also seemed to avoid looking at me at all costs, and every time she did, a blush formed on her cheeks.

Taylor looked back to check on us. I motioned towards Melody with my eyes, and Taylor nodded. Wordlessly, we had just decided to make tonight a lot more interesting.

The driver for his part said absolutely nothing the entire time, and thoroughly earned his five star review and extra trip. We entered the restaurant and managed to be seated after a ten minute wait.

We ended up in a booth with only one side open. Naturally, Taylor and I were on the same side, across from Monica and her sister. Melody and I were trapped at the far end of the booth. Melody still did everything she could to avoid eye contact with me, and buried herself in the menu, or pretended to at least. Of course, I couldn't just let her get away with that, could I? Then again, this could be a better chance to get closer to Monica too. Maybe we could even get a couple of drinks in her to really loosen those lips.

And of course, I could just try to have fun tonight. It's not often that Taylor and I hung out like this. Maybe I should just let whatever happens happens?
