What's next?
We look for a place to spend the night
We near a small village as the sky begins to dim.
“Come on.” I say. “We can find a place to stay.”
We find an inn. It isn’t the nicest looking place, but it has a roof and doors. All that is available to us is a small room with one bed. I tell the innkeeper that we’ll make it work. The two of us have dinner before heading upstairs.
I’m sitting up in the bed. Sasha is next to me. She rests her head on my shoulder.
“I’m scared.” She tells me.
“Me too.” I respond.
“Do you think we’re going to win?” She asks. “Do you think we can stop them?”
“I don’t know.” I say. “Eventually.”
We sit quietly for a moment.
“I just don’t know how far they’re going to come.” Sasha tells me. “I don’t even know if my uncle’s place is safe.”
“At least it will buy us a few days, so we can figure out what to do.” I tell her.
“I guess going there is still our best move.” She says.
“We should make it tomorrow.” I say. “Let’s try to get some sleep.”
