Chapter 18 by HipsDontLie HipsDontLie

How are they welcomed?

Warmly

The bar was dark with loud music. Through penumbra, Eve could see girls and women openly making out. It had something fascinating, and it took her a few seconds before realising Sylvie was yelling, trying to cover the sound, and pointing at a table in a corner of the place. She nodded and followed her, and gladly noticed that this part of the bar was more lighted and quieter. All four girls sat around the table, Lorena grabbing her girlfriend's shoulder to draw her tighter, and they started chatting.

They were going along really well, Lorena was always saying something either funny or interesting and they quickly felt like she had always been part of their group. And it was obvious from how they interacted that Sylvie and her really loved each other and that it wasn't a college phase.

"So, did you always knew you were lesbian, or did you date boys before?" Christine suddenly asked.

Eve was surprised, it wasn't like her to ask so boldly something so intimate. Maybe Lorena was really easing her out of her shell. Their new friend laughed and answered "Well, I was convinced I was straight like a knitting needle until I was a teenager, then I started having doubts. I had several phases, but it's been quite a while since I had to admit I was not interested in boys. Sylvie, on the other hand, is a gold star lesbian."

"Stop calling me that." Sylvie brooded. "It makes me feel like a stupid elitist unicorn."

"If you were a unicorn, I would never have been able to approach you." Lorena joked as she kissed her on her cheekbone, at the corner of the eye."

"Gold star...?" Christine repeated.

"She never had sex with a man, and most likely never will." Lorena explained.

"Oh... My... God!" an unkown suddenly voice exclaimed. They heard something on to the ground and turned their heads.

A girl with black hair and dark skin wearing daisy duke was standing by them, staring right at Eve. She looked slightly younger than them. Judging by the tray at her feet, she was probably a waitress here.

"You... You're HER, right?"

"Her?" Eve replied, dumbfounded.

"The student body president. I... I'm working here as a part-time job, but I attend the same college as you. I'm a big fan of you, you're doing so much to have things change. For people like... me..."

The student body president didn't know how to react, she was totally unaware that she had a fanbase. She didn't find anything to answer but "People like you?"

"Half Cherokee and proud of it. Well, I was a little less proud a few weeks ago, but the nation just legalized same-sex marriage, so now I can stand as a half Cherokee lesbian!"

Eve looked at the girls, searching for support. "Well, congratulations?" Sylvie hesitantly proposed.

"I didn't know you were one of us." the girl continued.

"One of... Oh, no! I'm only accompanying my friends." The half Cherokee lesbian looked a bit disappointed, so she added "But who knows, maybe there's still a part of myself I haven't discovered yet? What's your name, by the way?"

"I'm Ayita. Ho god, I wish I had a pic of you so you could sign me an autograph..."

"Well, I'm real glad to meet you, Ayita. Let's make a deal, you bring us beers and I give you this autograph."

"Deal!"

As the girl was rushing to the bar, Eve couldn't help but notice how cute she looked.

"I think she likes you." Lorena stated with a knowing smile.

How does the night go?
