War Path. Chapter 8. Epilogue.

Talia.

King Huganon had travelled to Talia and met with Alcippe and a formal peace treaty was signed along with a non-aggression pact between Huganon and his allies. Once the treaties were signed Huganon travelled back to Kuddonara through Guhan which was now part of the Freeconian realm. Arerto had returned to Talia amid victory parades and praise but the main event was due to come once everyone was in the capital. Two days later Alcippe and her daughters stood on the palace balcony as Sabine, Valeria and Elandra each led their troops through the streets amid much fanfare. Then came a solemn march past that of the honoured dead and at the head of the coffins was that of Argento's. The dead were taken to a mass grave and buried with honours then covered and plants and flowers added to create a commemorative garden. In the centre was a crypt and inside the crypt was laid Argento's casket and two guards mounted outside to watch over her. Arerto had left the ceremony now knelt at the casket with one hand on the top. The next day Arerto was summoned by her mother and she was told that she needed to prepare herself to become Queen someday. So Sabine was given command of Arerto's troops and promoted to general.

Guhan

Guhan was now part of Freeconia and under the control of civilian leadership and the people were much happier. There was a Freeconian liaison but the council made the laws. The wall had been rebuilt and the secret passage was filled in and sealed up so no one could invade the city. The bridge crossing had been named after Argento in recognition of her victory during the first stages of the short war. Guhan prospered and became a shining example of peace and tranquillity under the new regime. Alcippe had visited and bestowed the title of the second capital of Freeconia. For now, throughout the realm, there was peace and hopefully, Freeconia's enemies would think twice about trying to attack them.
