Walk home by yourself
You headed home, afraid you might take a misstep with Charlie in your drunken haze that night. You wake up the next day, groggy and with what you were sure was a hangover. You quickly get yourself dressed and head to work.
As you take orders, a girl catches your eye. She is standing at the front of the line, dressed in a cute summer dress that hugs her curves in all the right places. Her hair is long and wavy, and she has a bright smile on her face as she chats with her friends.
When she finally reaches the counter, you greet her with a smile. "Hi there, what can I get for you?"
She looks up at you, her blue eyes sparkling. "Hmm, what do you recommend?"
You list off a few of your most popular drinks, and she eventually settles on an iced latte. As you make her drink, you chat about the weather and her plans for the day.
After you hand her the drink, she takes a sip and lets out a happy sigh. "This is amazing. Thank you so much."
You can't help but feel a little flustered by her compliment. "No problem. Glad you like it."
As she turns to leave, she pauses and looks back at your name tag. "Hey...Alex? I know we just met, but do you want to hang out tonight? I know this cool rooftop bar that's supposed to have a great view."
You are taken aback by her boldness, but you can't help but be intrigued. "Sure, that sounds like fun."
As you exchange numbers, you can't help but feel excited. Her name is Avery, and she seems like a fun and spontaneous person. You are looking forward to getting to know her better, but maybe not too much...
